Thing is, I can't see any reason why we won't be getting similar temperatures. Very clear air, little wind (I had a soft SE blowing). Classic Canberra winter weather. Lots of ice in the morning!

Whats first division worth?

Might have a crack later.

I see the Newy radar is palying up again, some false echoes just offshore. There is a nice cloud bank out to sea, but that would have to be more than 100ks out or so!!

What about Tumbarumba, SB? Reason I ask is I'm currently camping here for the next 3 nights, right now the WS is telling me it's -0.5 eek

Mate, I reckon you could be close to the money with those, although Cooma still isn't playing ball tonight.......yet.
I'd go the same as you, so can we share first prize?

Bravo CS22, finally braving the cold! poke

I'm not too familiar with the Tumba area tbh, but I daresay it would get pretty piccadilly in these conditions as well.

Homeboy, I'm happy to share with you, after all you know the tablelands better than me I'm sure as I'm only an occasional visitor. Have you set up a weather station at Kalkite?

CS22 are you camping in the caravan park in town or at the paddys river flat campground? It got down to minus 5 this morning and forecast to get down to minus 2 tomorrow.

Staying tonight in town at the park right on the creek, so the absolute lowest part of town, but might check out the paddy flats tomorrow night. -3.5c out on the fence now! eek

Odd weather here. -1c in Canberra (airport) right now. Bit warmer in tuggy. But it's 4c here, with a window-rattling S/SE wind gusting up through the high 20s. If that keeps up, it'll blow the frost elsewhere. Canberra, probably. There's no measurable wind in Canberra, and looking at Braidwood (east of me) it's "calm" there and -1.4c. Weird.

NZ can keep the snow, it's horrible enough here as it is, feels like of 1.8C @ 7am. Waiting for some indian summery weather now.. a little warm-up next week according to models and no significant cold fronts either.

-5.2 here in Lithgow this morning. Even colder than yesterday morning. Very heavy frost everywhere. I noticed thick ice on the road too!

Well that was a bit of an epic fail on my part. Here were the results:

Bathurst (AP): -4.3
Canberra (AP): -4.2
Cooma (AP): -1.1 shocked
Perisher: -5.7

Hopefully CS22 got an overnight min from Tumbarumba as it looks like it could have been lower than all of them.

And Bokkey, I think you'll get your wish for an Indian Summer, OCF is going for 22C next Friday and Saturday, with probably a weak change after that going by the progs in South Australia.

I was going to have a go at those min figures last night and was going to agree with you SB. But I did have a suspicion that it might end up slightly warmer from the start. But the mildness of this mins has surprised even me.

My min was also higher -1.4 compared to -2.8 the day before.

Still do not like the look of the models really, I have already written off this June as too warm.

Scored a -6.1 here in the lowest part of Tumbarumba, and that was with a well positioned sensor on the wooden fence post. Looks like that could be the coldest min of the trip, with the next few nights looking warmer.

Nice CS22, I note that Goulburn AP also got to -6, the others were decidedly unimpressive as above.

You should head up to Three Mile Dam/Cabramurra, will be warmer up there wink

Should be a little milder tonight Canberra northwards, but I think the Snowies could be colder.
Tonight's lotto...
Bathurst (AP): -3
Canberra (AP): -4
Cooma (AP): -6
Perisher: -10

Slightly stronger high ridge over the Snowies so could be stronger drier subsidence above to cause the temp to drop faster.
