Thanks Lightning and Slippery... I would be happier if it was sunny and the stupid wind would bugger off, but its not really something Im used to after centuries of celebrating my birthday in winter. frown My best pressie so far is my hungover teenager who will no doubt wake up and demand he be taken to Macca's for recovery items. Might work for you too SBT lol

Mobile phone served remote weather station From Anthony Watts.

Looks like an interesting system for remote unattended locations.

Happy bday MS....
Some hope for an easing in this bloody cold weather by later tomorrow.
In the meantime
A large high [1033 hPa] over South Australia extends a ridge across northern New South Wales. The high is expected to move slowly southeastwards and weaken, becoming centred over the eastern Great Australian Bight by late Monday.

Strong Wind Warning
Lockhart River to Burnett Heads
Expect S to SE winds 25 to 30 knots. Seas to 3 metres.

Winds are expected to decrease below 26 knots during Monday.

Thanks everyone - yes it was a lovely quiet day spent mostly on the couch watching movies and trying to stay warm smile

Not much better today - just took the dog out for a quick walk on the bike track and got caught in a shower of drizzle.

drizzling all day at picnic bay 6.1mm so far since 9am, we have had a few reasonable showers, not monsoonal downpours but loud enough to hear on the tin roof.

7mm here from last nights rain. Not bad at all.

Min temp was 18.2C. Really enjoy these warm nights.

Ps

after looking at the bom rainfall map my totals seems like crap. 42mm at Upper Major Creek, 21mm at Picnic Bay. wow

My creek at alligator creek is still surprisingly running, it nearly ran all dry season last year, but unfortunately we didn't get any rain in winter. So he dried up in september. Still a good effort tho.
