Well Spring has sprung , it's 18.5 degrees here in the valley and rising. No clouds , very little breeze. Oh well saving heaps in power heating bills this year . Next 5 days look much of the same. The clear skies should see Jack Frost return . Looks like Winter days have forgotten us this year frown

Nah you'll get winter in December smile

I always worked on August/September being the snowiest months when I lived there. June and 1st half of July often seemed benign to me. It will come smile

Hi Dave,
Yes your right , about four years ago it snowed on Mt.Wellington on Christmas Day.
It was magic and the rellies from up North that were visiting thought it was the best Xmas day ever!
Do you think you will ever return to live here again ? You seem to really miss it.
Cheers
From The Bart.

Miss it like crazy, so does the wife. Best place we have EVER lived was Tassie. Trouble is all our family live up here, that was the reason we came back to the north island. Our hearts will always be in Tas. It's possible we would head back but not likely - unless you find me a really good job to do smile

In our 10 years there we had snow on Christmas Day or Eve about 4 times on Mt Wellington - we thought it pretty magic too. We always made sure to get a picture with our Santa hats on to send to rellies.

Should see a SWW for damaging winds go out for you guys down there is Tasmania sometime tomorrow in association with a coldfront motoring through on Sunday. Most districts look to be affected except for Central areas. Western and Southern areas look to bare the brunt as usual.

Hi everyone, We had some really strong gusts the last 24 hours. Last night it was howling through Lenah Valley which tends to funnel the wind. Also a very warm night only got down to 10.4 and a warm gusty day at 16.4 . I still think it's still a chance (just a gut feeling confused ) we will see 20 degrees before the month is done.

Cheers from The Bart.

The Unseasonal warm weather continues down here in Hobart . Another 15 degree day, but was probably a few degrees warmer than that in the suburbs.Almost certain this month will see no white stuff on the mountain. A very dry warm Winter , unless August can bring us something ,Winter has been a non event mad

Good steady showers in Hobart today. Temps have been sitting around 9 degrees most of the day. Very heavy cloud cover over the Mountain and my mate tried to get up there yesterday and the road was closed at the Springs due to heavy snow. I would say it would still be that way today.

Yep 9 degrees down there in town means much lower up top and in the SE flow you've had gives the heaviest snow (and rain when warmer). The Mt should look really good once it clears up.

Some of the weather group around Hobart are expecting snow to about 300 metres this weekend. That will excite a few people.
