9.4C and it going to be worse tonight until Monday morning. OCF, EC and BoM models showing signs of our minimums and maximums are heading to normal for August. 15C for nights from next Wednesday and maximums heading over 26C (including today). I do not like the look of tomorrow through Monday with 22C!? Tad cold for August!

Can't wait for temperatures to be back to normal next week. Looking at Cloncurry and inland area forecasts their locations seems heading towards low to mid thirties!

Townsville scored 27.2C today which is warmest for very long time!!!! Going to be cool down tomorrow around 22C through new week with temperatures expecting to come back to mid to high 20s. Mins has been low around early teens or sub teens for most of month here so far with expectations of single digit nights for few nights from tonight. However mins will skyrocket to mid to high teens in new week anyhow.

Cloncurry expecting to see high as 33C next Thursday!

i know that this isn't for us but incase ppl have family down there i seen this on facebook under Higgens Storm chases

Emergency situation declared, Minden
Posted on August 10, 2012

Police have declared an emergency situation in the Minden area in response to a bushfire that started this afternoon.

The declaration, made under the Public Safety Preservation Act, encompasses the following roads:

Hermann Road and Waldon Road (western boundary)
Tallegalla Road (eastern boundary)
Warrego Highway (northern boundary) and
Woolshed Creek Road (southern boundary)

Police are also conducting evacuations on Mountain View Drive at Minden.

Members of the public are advised to avoid the area.

Traffic on the Warrego Highway, east and west bound lanes, is being allowed through as smoke haze clears. However, regular closures are occurring due to changing wind directions. (Jamie)

Min 12 at 6.19 here at Cranbrook. Not too bad. Took my poor (I suspect) arthritic hip for a walk to loosen it up this morning but think tomorrow I will give the early morning one a miss.

Minimum here: 10.9 at 0555. Dew point now into negative territory at -3.5. I'm also sick of this cold, dry weather. Summer can't arrive early enough.

7 in the morning for you guys, you's are lucky.

Mackay's forecast for tomorrow is for 3 degrees with "possible early frost". And it is usually 3 to 4 degrees colder here than what it is in Mackay!!

Just back from a coupla days camping at Wallaman Falls. This morning not too severe but yesterday morning, holy bejebus!! We resevered the right as older peoples to stay in our swag until the young german lads nearby crawled out of their tents and stoked the fire up! Nice once the sun came over though. Enjoyed the beauty of the creek but declined a dip (or a shower for that matter)
