Mathew I have an exercise you might find interesting. Just something to ponder; this is not advice and you don’t have to do it – it’s up to you.
Picture someone you know really well, someone you like. Think about the time you last saw them. Now imagine a special day or event, maybe their birthday or an anniversary or some kind. Imagine all the nice things you would like to give them, and how you would like them to feel – positive things. Think of showing them compassion, that you accept them for who they are, warmth, being friendly to them.
Now imagine doing the same for yourself.
You do not have to respond to this…it’s just something to consider.
