The CALCA fire is travelling in a SOUTHERLY direction towards CALCA TOWNSHIP. There is a risk to lives and homes.
The uncontrolled fire is burning in Scrub.

Actually Chris, I presume the smoke you are talking about on radar is this fire:

CFS advises that a bushfire at AVON-KALORA RD APPROX 7 KILOMETRES FROM AVON IN THE WAKEFIELD PLAINS AREA OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA IN THE LOWER MID NORTH near AVON may threaten your safety.
The KALLORA fire is travelling in a SOUTH EASTERLY direction towards AVON.
The uncontrolled fire is burning in Stubble and conditions are continually changing.

Very noticeable on the radar....

for the straw clutchers out there.... About 1% chance a rumble with the change between about 4am and 7am... poke

Actually it's probably more like 5% or 10% chance considering BOM have isolated storms on their state forecast and on aviation...

For anyone whos interested, the trough is currently very obvious on doppler radar, and is moving through Adelaide.

Large temperature drop and large increase in humidity with it.

for those wondering there were a couple of decent storms in Spencer Gulf and around Pt Neill about 4am this morning. Unfortunately the cells in question had died by the time they got here...

I was at Innes NP on Sunday while the Tulka fire was in progress. We could see the plume clearly and the lighting effects as the fire cloud drifted across the park were quite uncanny. It was clear it was a pretty big fire. I'll upload a few shots tonight.

OMG.... seriously? That outlook has to be a joke? There is nothing I can see that is pointing to storms, let alone being anything severe....

Good sunrise this morning, appears as though it was fairly widespread around South Australia.

Since i don't have a telescope or telephoto lens for my dslr, used my old point and shoot with welding glass and it worked suprisingly well. Only 12 mp and cropped to nearly 100% but can see a few sunspots and stuff.

They were also supposedly forecasting severe storms for Victoria on Monday.

Interesting smoke photos Phil. The feature that most struck me was the little island and in the far distance another island almost lost in the ocean. As a person surrounded by terra firma every day where I can walk around in any direction and stay on the surface, it's a rather sobering reminder that the ocean rules over much of the planet and it's not a human-friendly habitat.
There's a sense of menace in your eclipse photo Markus even though I know the cause. Not surprising an eclipse could strike fear into the hearts of people who didn't know the cause.
