It was heavily overcast with a very gusty cool breeze until about an hour ago. I looked out the window and we've got heat, sun and a big black cloud looming in the distance. Check the Radar and yep! It's building. Quickly pull the float out of the black soil after completely forgetting yesterday that I needed it Monday LOL - Been anxiously watching clouds this morning in the hope it would dry out enough to pull it out. It was, but barely - HUGE tyre tracks buried in the paddock now. Still we're done now, and get to sick back and watch the fun start all over again grin

That little storm took about 4 minutes to pass over, but boy was the rain heavy!! A close CG too. We scored 5mm from it.

This morning's Brisbane temp trace LI Minus 6.3, with super adiabatic lapse rate above 14,000 ft, with a surface temp of only 27/28 deg needed to kick it all off - a greater potential than yesterday. Radar shows cell increasing in intensity about 90 minutes west of Brisbane, so if current track continues Brisbane show know about it around 1315/1400...

I think both Dalby and Gayndah are gonna cop it soon, both have nasty looking storms heading for them.

I am watching the cell out west of Dalby and will be keeping a close eye on that.
I agree totally with you retired weather man. I do believe this afternoon is going to get busy.

SunnyDays that image isn't live - it's an old image from yesterday, the camera has frozen up and the host is out until early this afternoon. It'll come back online shortly.

SunnyDays that's not a current image from that cam, I'm pretty sure it's off-line or down.

Haha Ben beat me to it !

I'm not sure how to describe the convection but imagine smoke billowing from a factory chimney and you would be close. It's beyond real time movement.

The Dalby cell is looking nasty but it just changed direction! On the radar it's now going Bell way. Looks awesome from here, about to go for a drive and see if I can get any half decent pics.
