SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
for DAMAGING WIND and HEAVY RAINFALL
For people in the Herbert and Lower Burdekin, Northwest and parts of the Peninsula, Gulf Country, Northern Tropical Coast and Tablelands, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders and Central West Forecast Districts.
Issued at 4:34 pm Monday, 24 December 2012.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in the Herbert and Lower Burdekin and parts of the Peninsula, Northern Tropical Coast and Tablelands and Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders districts. Locations which may be affected include Charters Towers, Georgetown, Ingham, Cardwell, Mingela and Einasleigh.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds over the next several hours in the Northwest and parts of the Gulf Country, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders and Central West districts. Locations which may be affected include Winton, Mount Isa, Cloncurry, Richmond, Julia Creek and Camooweal.
A 116 km/hr wind gust was recorded at Trepell Mine at 4:30pm.

The Bowen radar has a better representation of what is happening.. I still think the HR radar is over estimating
