Suns behind clouds now at Bexley North
Sydney Airport Max so far at 35.3C at 2:15pm
So close to the all time Airport September record (35.6C)
Non confident that it will get any higher.

Car thermometer report: 33 - 34 in the Lane Cove - Artarmon area a little while ago.

OH just snuck up to 33.8, now 4th hottest September temperature.

Three sites in NSW look to have reached 35 - Kempsey Airport, Bankstown and Sydney Airport, the latter at 35.3 just short of it's all time record of 35.6.

Looks like some storms starting to pop inland NSW. The change seems ages away according to Satpic. Cold air still pushing into Vic and far southern NSW.

Reached 33 degs around the place today, not a bad effort at all! Little cooler now but still very toasty. Heading to the beach now. Absolutely beautiful day.

I thought it would reach 33-34 but didn't expect 35's in Sydney. And I expected 31-32 down here.

There now looks to be a slightly cooler Westerly change moving up through tye Illawarra and into Sydney's South. Badgery's Creek, Camden and Campbelltown are all now now under 30. Illawarra sites peaked early in the afternoon or, further South, late morning.

Did you also notice that at 3.30 pm Lucas Heights had 1% humidity and
-32.9 dew point!! Haha.

Mentioned it earlier. Not much of a "cool" change though - DP's jumped a meager 4c and temp dropped the same.

Didn't notice that. In fact, it's got more humid there, up from a dew point of -77.3 and a humidity of 0% at 2:45PM.

lol. That rise in humidity must be so uncomfortable!!

I was working in Lego land out at North Kellyville today amongst the hundreds and hundreds of new houses being built. It was just one big dust bowl all day with these gusty winds. Luckily I was working in the cooler inside of the house with all windows and doors closed, but while peering out the windows frequently, it was just blowing dust everywhere. Winds were very strong - gusts possibly up to 70 km/h.
Couldn't believe how hot it felt outside when I put my tools in the ute after work.

Haven't been on here for a while but the sky is looking a bit unstable over head atm.
Those lightning strikes over the west isn't to good for the current conditions either as it doesn't look like there is much rain in that cell.

Must say I'm somewhat sceptical of the Lucas Heights dewpoint.

Early-season records I've seen so far today include Sydney, Richmond, Williamtown, Port Macquarie, Scone, probably Gunnedah and possibly Bathurst (the last two will need confirmation when manual obs come in in the morning). Haven't seen any monthly records at sites with more than 15 years of data.

Had several bouts of thunder over the last 40 minutes.

Couple of short sharp showers. Smells & sounds nice indeed. smile

Hopefully get another shower or two later.

Blair - you would think we'd be odds on for that record smile

BOM still quite bullish for their predicted snow falls for the CT's for early tomorrow morning. Snow level has risen to 700 metres, which is still quite extraordinary in my mind.
Orange, Lithgow, Bathurst and Jenolan all have snow forecast.
Katoomba doesn't.

In the Southern Tablelands, Yass, Crookwell, Braidwood and Queanbeyan all have snow forecast above 700 metres, but Canberra and Goulburn have no mention of snow.

The Snowy Mountains region has lower level towns like Bombala and Jindabyne with snow above 600 metres, but no snow in Cooma's
forecast.

South West slopes has snow forecast in Tumbarumba, Tumut, Gundagai and Young forecasts above 600 metres.

Further north, no snow in the forecasts for the Hunter or Northern Tablelands district forecasts.

Quite a mixed bag there.

Hopefully the snow fizzles out, winter is done, this is awesome warmth. Next week looks decent too, extended GFS really ramping up the heat over the inland with plenty of red and dark red there. Oh yeah it's about time grin

9-34C at home, 6-34C at work in Singo.
Diurnal ranges up there with the highest I have seen, the most being 4-35C in Oct 2012.
Still dry as a proverbial whatever saying you want to use.
0.0mm of rain looks to continue, now up to 40 days and 40 nights,. (just thought I'd throw the last one in, since August 4th, 27 days in August + 13 days so far this month)

Yep, got the sausage sizzle ready, and still 30C here too.
A beer, and maybe a red wine as well.

I have a nice bottle of Pinot Noir from Tamburlaine wines, but I'm still keeping an eye on the sky, as I think it could light up offshore, so it will be a glass at best!!

Wind has died right down although it never really got going here. The Newy radar is drunk again!!
