Will be very surprising to see 30C considering the amount of cloud, rain and southerlies coming up next week. Be nice though considering we only had one 30+ day on the coast way back in Dec.. feels like winter's here already, cool cloudy and southerlies blasting us to bits. The southerlies look like returning for the latter half of next week, but before that we'll definitely see a warmup. I'm surprised at the level of storm activity on the ranges this afternoon, granted, I didn't check the CTs forecast which did include storms from the get go. Doesn't look like the Basin will get anything but you never know. Looking like it's going to get rather humid as well, so even if it doesn’t break 30c it's sure going to feel like it with the 20c dp's

I went to my first physio session post knee op in Gungahlin this avo and on the way back got a pretty good view of the line slipping just se of Canberra. Failry good structure actually, some nice CGs. The strongest up draught seem content to draw scud upwards creating bit of a stationary rounded base. Nice:) Back to the desk now, and some ice... ouchy.

Hope your physio works out well Greg, I have a dozen mates that have had knee issues - surprising I have a dozen mates actually but there you go. Just great to have a fine day for once, sitting under the maple tree, chucking slobbery tennis balls to the dogs: http://twitpic.com/8n3rlz

I evidently got something from that SE storm, very wet here and bark all over the driveway, so I figure there was a bit of wind in it too. 4mm in the rain tube. And when I got home (just after 9pm) there was a giant monster strobing away to the north, big bulge being lit up by pink lightning. Certainly got nothing at the airport though.

yer got my bandages off today, looks like a rainbow paddle pop:) You live in a great location Blizz! Speaking of which, i've been starting to looking into venues for a weather meeting, namely in Katoomba because of it's central location - not too far for Sydney-ites, not too far for us southerners, and also not to far for those in the Hunter, mid north and western parts. I'm thinking something along the lines of a video and image sharing afternoon in late April and early August. Does that sound okay with everyone? I'll def be showing the full res version of the Bredbo storm, and other footage that i haven't shown yet from this season, Troy Barrett has already put his hand up to show his Urana plains chase last year, and i'm sure Mr Keene / Lightning chaser will have some epic footage to share. I'd love some of the Blue mountains folk to share some of their stuff too and course FINALLY meet you all! What does everyone think?

Greg - good luck with the knee, do all the work the physio tells you to, it's too easy to go light but that won't help (speaking from experience here ) The meeting around Katoomba sounds good - hope I can get there. Lovely and cool (about 9 o/n) with a big fog/dew here in Bx. Definitely an "Autumn" morning however we are due to get to 27 later and that is a Summer day. Fog still only 30 metres or so above us here, it will be cool until it lifts.

looks like we have a nice run of weather on the coast, which has been rare this summer. Low 30's and high DP's should make it nice and sticky. hopefully we can get a little bit of surf to go with this nice weather.

What: Weather video and photography presentation Where: Katoomba RSL Club, 86 Lurline Street Katoomba NSW When: 21st April Time: We are thinking along the lines of 1pm onwards, probably looking to end at 5-6pm. Cost: Free, drinks / food can be bought at the bar. Gold coin donation is welcome though! RSVP: gregs10@westnet.com.au - please get back to me asap. I have 14 days to secure the room before i have to give it up for someone else to use. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Hi everyone, It's high time that the next meeting be organised for the southern half of NSW! But before we do, we need to know if we have the numbers to go ahead with such a meeting following a disappointing turn out at the Bathurst meet last year. Each of the meetings that Lee Scott and myself put together comes at some personal cost, which we're glad to contribute towards, however if people don't show up or show interest, then it makes it hard to keep on dipping into our own pockets. We want to set an agenda full of footage and imagery that people will bring along, or any other presentation that people would like to give that's weather related. We will have all the AV gear and both PC and MAC laptops. We've set aside the 21st of April, so plenty of warning. It won't suit everybody, however with plenty of warning perhaps people can plan ahead and make it work. The more people we can get, the more likely we will arrange further meetings. In addition, i plan to drive up to Katoomba after work on Friday from Canberra, so that i can do some sunrise photo shoots around the area on both Sat and Sunday, such as the Wentworth Falls, the 3 Sisters and so on. If anyone would like a bit of a photography help session, then i'd be happy to have you join me. So far the agenda for the meeting will be: Greg Sorenson - Season highlights including the 20th Jan Bredbo chase, 29/30th Nov Canberra Cg barrage including the infamous strike within 100m caught on still and other footage. Troy Barrett - 9th Nov, 2011 Urana Plains Chase, plus other season highlights If you'd like to share anything with the group then please email me at gregs10@westnet.com.au and i will do my best to put you down. It's been an active season for southern NSW so there should be plenty of awesome work to look at!!! Any questions, just email or PM me. Cheers, Greg

I am astonished to realise that before today, the hottest temp this February has been 28.3 which is ONLY 1 degree above average for Feb. We may just pip that today or not but it's damn close atm. No wonder we are almost 3 degrees below avge for the month max's. All this blue sky is too bright for my eyes, really seems like a long time since we've had all blue all day. Where's me sunnies?

Can't have been many Feb's like this. Surely a number of other localities must have a similar story.
pretty similar story here near the coast Dave. We are only 1.7c below average though, Including today we have had 5 days above average. Highest positive anomaly of 2.6c lol, the rest are all under + .5c anomalies. pretty pathetic really and like you, when it does hit 28-29c it feels really hot.
