Almost as if it's hit a brick wall and moving west now (judging by the radar).. probably getting ready to aim for Port hedland

Was expecting conditions to be totally different

What's stopping it from continuing west where BOM have it dragging south? Is it that trough? I thought it was meant to be weaker than first predicted?

If this stir does get very close to hedland we have a perfect opportunity to get hold of some possibly incredible wind strengths and other weather data. Provided the weather station does not malfunction like George.

No cyclone in your area yet, just some stiff breezes (which is what you are commenting on), you will get the real thing - it will be all yours entirely going by latest images and maps.

You will find as it gets closer that enjoyable activities like driving become impossible and also forbidden in the later stages(depends on code) before the cyc tries to take you out

Have you found yourself somewhere extremely secure to hideout??

Well it has just picked up again. Heidi was the biggest I have been through and we have pretty much reached that now. Can't imangine what bigger is going to feel like. Taken a bit of water in the house on the eastern side nothing serious just a bit of soggy carpet. Feelin prepared, But I am nervous... Time will tell it is defiantly starting to get louder and windier. Thats here at Port we are about 800m from the ocean

Vertical Hops

What cyclone rating is your unit? You need to know that information right now

We are lucky enough to have Steve in our chase team, he's a top bloke and loves the weather. He's having a ball up there at the moment.

I just got a message from a friend I hedland that said its starting to get "hectic". He said that a building site that's across the road from him didn't tie down there mess, and he's worried about projectiles.

I just said just take photos, and when ur car and contents get damaged I'm sure u will be able to get the building firm to cover your losses if its due to that building site lol

I'm streaming the ABC emergency radio. They just had the chief of DFES on and he said RED was about to be issued from "now". You have a radio with batteries right? it is one of the most vital items of a 'cyclone emergency kit' you should have had ready as yellow was called. ABC in Hedland is on 603 AM i think. You need this to know when the All Clear is issued as you may lose all satellite and battery power

Yeah Hedland is on RED. Just heard it on ABC apparently SES has the light flashing RED.

Begs the question if it shifts West does K-Town go yellow. I'm sure the bottlo's will be hectic when they are allowed to open.

Yes and they mentioned it's going to be on RED for some time as the system is moving very slowly...

It's going to be a tough time for Hedland Residents...

Stay safe...
