True but even then I think the high had its backside parked in the Tasman somewhere squashed down by the intensity of the low

Towards the winter months the highs will start to progress north as the land cools

No recordable rain recorded in the 24hrs to 9am this morning. There were two very brief showers overnight, only leaving a trace in the gauge (<0.2mm). But a trace doesn't count as a rainday (>=0.2mm), so the run of consecutive raindays ends at 21 (the equal second-longest stretch of consecutive raindays on record here):

Feb 12th - 0.4mm
13th - 2.0mm
14th - 13.0mm
15th - 28.8mm
16th - 13.2mm
17th - 9.0mm
18th - 27.0mm
19th - 15.0mm
20th - 28.2mm
21st - 38.8mm
22nd - 131.6mm
23rd - 28.0mm
24th - 18.8mm
25th - 0.8mm
26th - 3.0mm
27th - 1.4mm
28th - 0.2mm
Mar 1st - 28.0mm
2nd - 70.2mm
3rd - 11.0mm
4th - 0.6mm
Total - 469.0mm over 21 consecutive days

Closes the chapter on what has been a pretty extraordinary seven-week period!

Vict Pt 24 hour rain 17.0mm.

If BoM 10 day chart on WZ is right, soon to be TC Sandra is predicted to cross coast over Sunshine Coast next Thursday....

MAX,

SST's off us are 25-26 which are not bad but still need to above the magic 27 for soon to be Sandra to maintain decent intensity, but the intriguing factor is the projected upper level pattern above 25,000 ft which mostly dictates main movement.

The charts suggest a 25,000+ft trough and low developing over central inland Qld this weekend but as the following week unfolds this trough is predicted to move WEST into central Aus.

Now depending on the strength of soon-to-be Sandra, if it is weak at the time it could very well come under the influence of this upper system, and want to be sucked into it - namely a westward movement.

However the flow on then eastern side of this upper system is more NW and then further south, more toward the west, which suggests the TC ( if still a TC by then ) would want to move more parallel to the coast, behaving somewhat like an ECL.

I would suggest the latter.

I'm sick of this weather! We've had rain every day this week. It rains overnight, overcast, misty mornings, clears for a bit and then we get odd passing showers that can be relatively heavy at times considering what the cloud looks like as it passes over. My washing dries a bit, then is drenched again by the rain! The puddles dry out and when the showers come we end up with puddles everywhere again. When will it end??

haha know how you feel, its our 12th straight day of rain. It must be close to a record for Toowoomba. Obviously hardly anything in it, just enough to keep the mould happy

No, it's not registering as much rain at all, just enough to keep everything wet!

Last night's shower was in Bell and Dalby as well though the sun came out for most of the day.

Not holding my breath for another storm this season.

Absolutely pitiful season in terms of chasing.

Usually May can throw up some good storms associated with lots of hail.
