Always envious of those awesome photos inflight, I'm always stuck with a seat that's had someone rubbing their hands all over the window, or scratches, or condensation or one of those ones where the window is not quite in line with seat.

We flew Virgin for work when the Qantas "shut the whole airline down" thing has happening, and found out that a full fare economy was their version of premium. So both trips I found myself in the first row.. in one plane, there was a bulkhead wall, but in another, there was nothing!

So I was sitting there as the rest of the plane got on, trying to tuck my feet out of the way so they wouldn't get trampled. It was literally the front door, and me sitting just inside of it.

Poor old Virgin tried their best, with a dodgy drinks service as they were loading, they hadn't really thought it out though. the Virgin lounges are lovely, however, deserted and very arty and quiet.

Wow great thread and some awesome pics too!

I'm looking forward to me my next trip overseas when I'm booked on the Qantas A380 off to Europe via Dubai smile

Last trip to Myanmar flew Singapore 777-300 from Bris to Singapore, Singapore to Yangon Myanmar on Silk air A320- Great airlines too.

At Yangon witnessed Biman Bangladesh Dc10 taxi and takeoff, the plane looked old and in bad need of a makeover, i bet there safety record isn't that flash either.

Heres a pic of the F100 which crashed the day before taking this pic on route to Heho airport. Can clearly see the T-Tail and locals mingling amongst the wreckage.

Hope you're upstairs on that Big Plane, Pacman. I have avoided the rotten things until last trip, and to my horror found that in economy, the window seat lurk of having a wall to sleep against was denied me, the wall is some inches away from the window seat. Like in the very back bit of a jumbo. Awful.

I won't be in one of those again, that's for sure.

That's pretty much average, works out to be about 150kts. Depends on the weight and flap settings, useable runway length etc.

Apparently there would have been more casualties though the good deeds of this tour guide assisted in freeing passenger trapped in there seats and pushing them out the emergency exit. The guide stayed in the plane looking for any other trapped passengers when the plane exploded. Apparently the cabin crew where some of the first off due to the smoke on board at the time.

Yup pretty cool. Would love to see something like that. The A380 is impressive enough in real life.

Cessna has gone missing in the NT with 4 people onboard. Darwins Careflight has now joined the search as weather and heavy rain squalls have died down.

On the airtrain to Brisbane airport yesterday I noticed a USAF KC-10 Extender sitting on ramp just off to the side of the International Terminal. I couldn't get any photos in time because the train was fairly beetling along.
I saw it there at about 10:15am or so, looked like all the ground power units were pulled away and there was just the forward stairs still attached.

By the time I took off at 13:40 it was gone.

Magnificent looking aircraft they are.

while its obviously bad news the plane has overshot the runway, thankfully it seems no bad injuries at this early stage.
the above newspaper report is a bit dodgy imo, says the flight was from london to denpasar, dont think they use 737's on such long flights, dont think lion air actually flies to between london and bali anyway.
