Looks like a couple of upper troughs and moist/humid onshore flow is likely to cause widespread showers/rain areas in the next few days. Rainfalls likely to range from 25-50mm inland 50-100mm nearer to the coast. Before a big ECL forms off the NSW coast and clear everything later Thursday/into Friday with cooler and sunnier weather! Can't wait for that! grin

Edit Reason: 'Isolated Storms' added to title, due to some storms about the region today

It's been awhile since I've seen storm potencial on the BSCH... well I'm hoping theres a few rumbles around. Not sure about the light at the end of the tunnel, both Access G and GFS has a follow up system in our region looks like it might be a wet June smile

Well very overcast last couple of days. Picked up 62mm so far (20+42). After a few brighter periods this am cloud starting to thicken up.
Overall welcome winter rain but looks as though we might have more to come in the next few days and weeks.

Woke this morning at 2.30am to the sound of the heaviest rain I've heard since the beginning of the year, was great to hear on the roof. Feels quite warm today hope tomorrow can get anoth heat going for some storms in the afternoon, evening. Mid to upper level shear looks really good with plenty of moisture feeding in from the NE also instibility is quite high. Looks interesting anyway...

Some very good falls around SE QLD, with a couple of 100mm+ falls on the Sunshine Coast in the past 24 hours (including 132mm at Sugarbag Road).

Light rain at times yesterday brought 2.6mm here.

Really hoping we get a bit of thunder tomorrow. Will make the rainy gloomy days that bit more bearable!

Got some great steady rain almost all day yesterday. Looks like tomorrow will be heavier for some parts of the day.

Gonna pack the camera tomorrow, just in case.

A few bolts after work would be nice!

Had a half doz good intracloud lightning with rumbles an hr or so ago which came in from the Nth, now gone SE off NNSW Coast.

That Line of activity out Wst and SW looks good for this time o year. Predicted storms SEQLD for next 15-20hrs, so I interpret that this line will make it into SE Qld ? ? ?
Any thoughts ?

Have been busy so haven't had a chance to post the below output from my script til now. Better late than never I guess.

There's solid Cb tops already visible to the north with towering cumulus in other areas. With the appearance of the sun and some blue sky, it won't take much now for convection to ramp up, especially given the favourable shear & moisture:

P.S. also wouldn't be too surprised if some cells tried to become severe in spots, mainly with heavy rainfall.

A bit of a gust front on the storm line as it moved through Tamworth in western NE NSW not too long ago, would be happy with something like that in winter:

Looking like a reasonably solid line of storms for this time of year over western NE NSW, continuing to progress steadily eastward, although it will soon have to try and cross the tablelands...

STW for Large Hailstones, Damaging Winds & Heavy Rainfall has been moved a bit further eastward in the latest update at 2:20pm, with the warning area now covering most of the western MNC:
