Not looking forward to jack the frost after this system passes through, but there should be some rumbles around the place tonight

it looks like this band approaching is going to drop some hefty falls in the south western parts of SEQ. Especially when it collides with the additional moisture in the atmosphere created by the northles...alot of lightning on the tracker strectching from the north west near roma down to stanthorpe atm....looking forward to what the night has instore especially with such an unstable atmosphere

I'm with you dylos, it's coming just the trough has not moved through as quick as expected. Severe TS warnings have been cancelled though...

Just a spit of rain here with some distant thunder. All the stormage looks to be moving south now, so I think that's it for here tonight.

Warwick looks like its about to get smashed though, an unusually intense storm for this time of year. Should be a STW out for that one I reckon.

I dunno about that, it looks pretty severe to me. There's a solid dark red core on that storm.

Just checked the rain gauge, a total of 5 mm with that shower, not bad for 10 minutes smile.

About 30 min ago, we were experiencing very close CG's out here, right over the house! Now it is absolutely pissing down, and has been for quite awhile now! I would not be surprised if we get 50mm out of this when it is all said and done. Great stuff for June!!

It's "hooking" in the wrong direction to be a tornado.

It was definitely interesting wasn't it. It definitely looked to be wrapped up in itself.

Yes, definitely looks like a hook to me. Saw something similar north of Tamworth on the Naomi radar earlier thisafternoon. That same storm also looked like it was rotating before it hit Warwick. Will be interesting to see if there is any damage, but both looked like they were in rural or forested areas.

Any hail in that storm?

A couple of flashes of in-cloud lightning and a burst of heavy rain here. 14.0mm of rain, around 10mm of that falling in about 7 minutes. It tended a bit breezy too during the burst of rain, in what had otherwise been calm to near calm conditions.
A bit of light rain persisting, but looks like it should pretty much clear here within the next hour.
