Was a nice morning 30 minutes ago but the cloud has returned, hopefully it disappears later today. Looks like we should have some nice clear days from tomorrow through until about Monday.

Models are looking rather benign for now, not much of anything happening. ACCESS G throwing up a potential front for the first weekend in August. GFS shows a slight cold air incursion that looks like it will stay very south and same with EC.

We are well on target to break the highest monthly maximum average for July, looking at the next few days forecast, despite the lull back to average July conditions the last few days.
Cessnock, Newcastle (Nobbys), and Williamtown should do so as well, by about 0.2c.

A very decent frost here this morning, about -3 or -4. Not a cloud in the sky - going to be a ripper day here.

Out here we've had a mild winter, I suspect there will be a catch up in spring somewhere.

Williamtown is sitting bang on the record now and by my Calculations, your number of 0.2c above the record is spot on if the forecasts are correct.

We will come in about 2 degrees above average for July. Thats 2 degrees over a long term average of about 11, that's a lot, about 18% over.

Our mornings have also been above average but a frosty few days will pull it back a bit closer than it has been.

Cheers, didn't even know that page existed, 63 potential records (NSW) when the BOM was forecasting average to below average temperatures.

Why have they got the long range forecasts so wrong ?

With only 6 days of the month left, it looks like we will break the July average maximum temperature record. It has been very dry as well. Only 17 mm of rain has fallen this month at Norah Head. The local weather station at Woy Woy has only recorded 5.5 mm of rain! eek

That's a VERY dry month for there in July, normally around what 100mm or so average? All that sandy soil too that is not real good at retaining moisture.

The long term average is 98 mm of rain. I hope we get some rain soon.

More rain!? No thanks. June gave many coastal sites over 300mm. We can go without for a while yet me thinks.

It would appear that the coast got quite lucky with the sunshine today. Low cloud to the east and high cloud to the west left a gap for much of the day. The final hour of sunshine has been ruined by that high cloud moving over Sydney.
I do not want to see it tomorrow; it has 14 hours to clear off.

On the bright side though it should trap some of today’s heat in and prevent another cold morning. wink

That would destroy Trav's hope of another frost at Olympic Park though!

No heat trapping up here, already 7.9c so it should be a cold one unless the cloud thickens.

Haha Dave, it actually wasnt that bad running in the cold even though it was near 0c. I did about 6ks and the cold air made it easier I think. Beats hockey in 29c back at home anyday poke

Homer - unfortunatly looks like no frost for me tomorrow frown bad when a frost is the most exciting thing I have seen in Sydney in the last year haha !

I am yet to see an ECL or massive cold front frown a ECL would help my cyclone dry spell !
