I found this a while ago, lost it and found it again today. It shows both commercial and military shipping. As per usual with Google maps scroll to zoom in etc. Shows courses, destinations, speed, track maps etc. OK so it is like train spotting but for boats. Meh I have to get a better hobby. wink

At least I am not standing in teh pouring rain going agga over serial numbers on carriges or something.

Yeah I am no longer allowed beer Petros. But the odd 3 or 4 rums every week is enough these days. wink

I was researching a point about shipping going through the GBR for some one (not on this forum who couldn't use Google because his tofu powered 286 laptop didn't get the Interwebs at home but he sent emails from his local Latte dispensing cafe) a couple of years ago vs the number of groundings/sinkings and it worked out somewhere around 6000 to 1 over the last 25 years. I also used it to track a couple of live sheep carriers for a group again not associated with this forum which came in pretty handy at the time.

I had all the facts and figures on an old PC that I recently consigned to the dump without backing it up first. (see not drinking beer makes you siller than usual) Nothing important on it apart from the reseach done for the GBR shipping frequencies etc. There is one for aircraft as well and also for yatchies. You just have to look for them apparently. grin

Interestingly though SBT that site doesn't seem to show the coal ships out of Hay Pt. Do you know if there is another site dedicated just for that??

Few reasons why - most likely the Port doesn't give access to the data?

I know Darwin Port is about to get a new vessel tracking system which will significantly boost the range smile

It should show all shipping world wide and I have seen coal carriers listed Wettish. I don't know why they aren't doing it now. Could be a long time between updates or something. Last time I checked it before posting the above link was back in Feb and they had 3 shown at anchor and one berthed receiving coal so they used to show them.

I checked and it is showing at least 51 ships around Gladstone.
