Got some very strong winds here in Stockport just now with small branches down, and we don't even have a wind warning. Must be pretty wild to the south.

Barometric pressure has dropped rapidly (in the last 24 hours) with winds increasing...conditions seem fairly unsettled with increased cloud-cover.

May well head out chasing I think... first real chance of the season.

just seen something ive never seen before (although might be common?)
it was a full rainbow, however on the right hand side the "double" bit was curving away from the main bow so like a lower case m. by the time I got my phone out it was gone frown

Yes it is looking more and more like a decent rain event than a thunderstorm event with every run. The stalling of the system really allows moisture to be brought into it, and it is also not as sharp. There will still be storms in the system but most likely out west initially before a lot of it thickens to rain and quite a decent drop at that.

TS cool

Yes has been for a few days now but models keep changing the size of the potential cut-off as well as the timing. Need more warmth into the systems than we are getting atm.

The croppers especially those in the northern and much of the central settles areas will very much disagree with you RS!

More rain is good in a way but im hoping the weather improves shortly as the spud farmers will need access to their paddocks to start planting potatos for the upcoming harvest season
