The new overpass at Forest Gardens is causing some confusion already. We watched a guy turn down the wrong ramp and he promptly reversed as he realised there were cars coming up towards him this morning. It should be fun tomorrow with all the traffic at peak hour.

We hit 31 degs at home today. The pool got its first work out in several months.

Haha CF. I have seen some crazy drivers doing some silly stuff on it as well. Maybe it's the new flash electric signage. To flash for the locals eyes...lol grin

Working over the mountains today around Milla Milla. Be interesting to see if there will be any storm build up

My partner reckons it took her 30 minutes to travel several k's this morning. The lights on the overpass were screwed up and the merge lanes onto the new main road were still blocked off = disaster!!

Meanwhile who came up with the new road name "Murgatroyd Dve"?

We topped 32 degs at home today.

So is it right that when SEQ get their first storms (proper storms shall I say) for the season, we get ours (on the tablelands) a short time afterwards? I think it was Things who told me that - is this true? I am so overdue for a thunderstorm it is sad. I will literally go beserk at the sight of lightning whenever I am lucky enough to see one!!

This past wet season was the first wet season in donkeys years that my work place has not flooded in town. I know floods suck, but I really hope for some terrific rains this year! Anyways, grabbin a mop with a few work buddies always makes for a good shift!

Depends what you mean by short time grin But SEQLD will always get theirs first, yes.

Last few years, the earliest storms have been around mid Oct, though usually just a one off that might escape the range forcefield. They're not really common until Nov onwards usually .. if it's not a dud season like last year grin

I recorded 31.3 as my maximum today.

Can't wait for the storm season/wet season to kick in. Last year was such a bore. grin

CF, maybe this is a fitting answer :-

"Heavens to Murgatroyd
Meaning
An exclamation of surprise.

Origin
'Heavens to Murgatroyd' is American in origin and dates from the mid 20th century. The expression was popularized by the cartoon character Snagglepuss - a regular on the Yogi Bear Show in the 1960s."

Here you go CF. Now it makes a little more sense why someone would call a bloody road that name...lol

Mine's been doing it for a couple of weeks. Welcome to a future with CTTH broadband wink. No incentive whatsoever to fix it either.

Weather -stunning at Mission beach today.

Usually it's pretty good, but last couple of days I've been having DNS and DSL link issues quite often - annoying.

Just back from my European holiday and can't believe how dry the place is considering there was 47mm in the gauge.

Our plane landed from the south over the city and sure was great to see the mountains and Mulgrave valley up close.

Time for some sleep to starve off this Jetlag- It took 32hrs to get home from Prague via london, Dubai and Melbourne. The A380 is an awesome plane, loved it!!

Agreed. Flew on it SYD-LAX a few weeks back and what an incredible smooth quiet bird to fly in. And Qantas service was world class.

16 degrees last night, thought it was chilly. Interestingly enough the airport has not hit 30 all week - despite it feeling warm. In fact I just checked and its not hit the 30 mark all month - so are our temps pretty much round average?

I hate the fear-mongering the media are doing in regard to Queendlands hottest September on record bla bla bla.
Anyways, this is not the forum for that discussion but our temps seem average although it does feel hotter. Maybe dew point is up?

Definitely more bearable today than it was a few days ago, but at these temps it's mostly the humidity that makes the difference. Could be 48C in central QLD, but with no humidity, it's not that horrible poke

I agree Things. The temperature today was a lot bearable than it has been in the last few days.I had quite a few people comment on this at work today. We are defiantly at our average for this time of year. Not sure if we are in a heat wave up here like the media is saying. Down south defiantly. Pretty hot conditions down there for September.

Still nice and cool in the morning. I recorded 17.2 at 4am however, the humidly kept it warmer as it was at 97%. grin
