Similar in Bathurst, our Sept 1st forecast would be a record if in August - missed by one day.

YTD 785.6, August was 279.6mm, 496.6mm in 66 days.

Quite likely that Savage River just recorded it's wettest month on record - required 1.8mm yesterday and last night to tie the record. Already the wettest August.

Our channel 10 weather report is giving snow down to 200m for Tasmania tomorrow. Looking at ACCESS thickness values. The 532 thickness line is over Tasmania tomorrow Wednesday 11th Sept and Thursday

What are the units for' thickness'?

I know someone who lives in the Huon Valley at 75m asl who had settled light snow this morning. Not a bad effort.

I last climbed BK as a teenager but it won't ever be forgotten. Trying to jog all the way up certainly help sharpen the experience! You think you've done all the hard yards only to find that last steep section right in your face!

Anyone still around or have you all been blown/washed away.

Its so quiet in here if it was not for the wind you could hear a pin drop.

Were still here in Central Tas ..but she's nasty out there - had gusts recorded at 74kph and steady wind of 50kph - light rain all morning that's just starting to pick up a little.

Not sure where all the water we've had the last week or so is going but the rivers seem to be doing a good job of keeping up all things considered, all minor flood warnings aside from a moderate for the upper South Esk. BOM's saying the South Esk at Longford probably wont even hit minor levels which is a surprise.

Radar looks like your copping it rain wise down south.

The rain this morning has not been that heavy but its been very consistent, 5.4mm since midnight with 4mm of that falling in the last hour and Winds gusting to 52kph.

Bom still suggesting possible afternoon thunder and hail.

All makes for an interesting afternoon.

yep defiantly interesting - I enjoy a good storm but am not a fan of the wind

Trip went well. Not that rough. At Hobart atm. Has been raining quite steadily for a few hours now. Done the Tahune Air Walk before lunch. It was great.

Hi Duane , Welcome to Tassie and The Bart!! Glad you enjoyed the Tahune . Yes we got pelted in the Northern Suburbs here tonight. A bit of small hail around as well. If your down for the rest of the week you will enjoy a nice mix of what we call " Jacket on ...Jacket off " weather.
Sunday and Monday are a slight chance of snow showers I would say on the higher peaks. It's also our Windy season , 70 kmr winds around midday today. Cheers and enjoy your stay.

Up at Launceston now. Was a nice day. Saturday looks like being a bit windy. Sailing back on Sunday night so hopefully won't be too rough through Bass Straight then. Have really enjoyed my stay here over the past week. It is truly gods country here. Absolutely loved it.
Duane.

First trip there? We went in 96 then just had to move there, which we did for 10 years - best place I've ever lived and I lived in plenty of places. Enjoy the rest of the trip. smile
