I have heard stories of rats building high. But they could be stories.

I haven't seen any signs of rain coming yet. No jet streams from planes. No mares tail clouds.

I recommend my usual though. Be prepared for flood, drought and fire and you should be right. smile

And i found the answer to what this council bloke was saying..The statement i found was actually posted into this forum , in the cardwell threads relating to ken ring. I have lost interest at looking at models as i lost all my old bookmarks so , i am just winging it ! I am pretty cranky that every time i have been out in the boat, i have seen no croc !!! HA HA!!
I think they are thinking this 1 croc is the same one near the beaver rock boat ramp , which they saw earlier in the day at saltwater creek..Gotta be more than 1. Heading up the mary , into township , get up to the sugar mill and have a feast up there while they are pumping all their crap into the river and the croc will be feeding on barra ! Good enough theory ??? Or the croc is heading around to the
lammy bridge where baby crocs were netted in crab pots ?? ha ha
How do you go up in your area ??

"I have seen a few ants, but nothing like i saw before ozzie coming down the coast. Never heard of rats building high . I like the ant theory".

I heard a weird story the other day = rats built a nest high in a shed, one of the sugar mills - before the 2010/2011 flood they built a nest high then the floods of 2010/2011 occurred, then before the 2013 built a metre higher from 2010/2011 - rumour has it they have again built another nest higher than the 2013 flood, is this a sign! Also at home last week ants went crazy, a lot of ants came through the back bedroom climbed over the carpet floor and travelled the hallway ceiling to the kitchen just to get to the food pantry for all the sugar things....and they are still going crazy outside climbing walls and building nests everywhere high in the brickwork of the house. Animals and insects do know signs, maybe there is another big wet season coming, only time will tell?

Son and I saw a small juvenile in the local creek late last year. Then there were a couple seen and photographed around the place and the govt put up their 'recent croc sighting' signs. When the crocs weren't seen for a couple of days they declared them gone.

I have seen photos of some freshies up behind a place not too far north. I did have a bookmark to a few of the sites where I found people discussing the crocs around the area and a couple of pics well before the recent sightings but lost them when my computer crashed and died.

bundybear, thats where you are doing it wrong, if you want to see croc's you shouldn't be in the boat, get out and see what happens, much more exitng. some one should mayby start a site in general discussion where we can post confirmed sightings in the area.Bundaberg downwards. Sea temps are up a bit on last year, i think. Maybe the crocs have noticed.

Justme, I spend lots of time out of the boat. Even spend time in the water.

There are creeks here I would not get out of the boat in at all. I stick to getting out only where the water is clear. grin

We have a few clouds around but I am not expecting anything. I have tried to encourage it though. Got washing on the line, watering my citrus trees which are looking very sad, had the car washed.

I do paddle the kayak around some spots here but I wouldn't venture with it up the creeks. wink

Well doesn't that give you the poops. After spending time and money yesterday to water the citrus today it is wind to dry out any moisture left in them. frown

This wind is incredible. It hasn't done my soft fruit like the plums and nectarines any good.

It finally rained last night. About 25ml. Nearly filled one tank. I was up at midnight on the ladder checking the infill wasn't clogged with leaves and such. Hubby cleaned the gutters not long back but with all the wind I figured they would have refilled a bit. I would hate it if all the water just ran over and not into the tank.

Lucky you bundybear, not a drop here. There was a lot coming from the west but as soon as it got close to gayndah it just dissipated. Happens a lot of times, must be the all the citrus sucking it up. mad wink

We were lucky. It came from down your way actually. Then sort of just drifted up the coast to us.

I fully expected it to split before it got here but for once it didn't.

Looks wet out the back this afternoon so I may get lucky again.

I,m desperate for rain, and I am not giving up yet, that line is still working it's way up. If it can get past Gyndah and Biggenden we might get some yet. Mayby we should do a rain dance, preferebly with our clothes on???

For the second Spring in a row we have been plunged back into drought conditions down here in the South Burnett. All our tanks are dry and the grass has browned to a crisp. Unless we get something decent mid to late next week, then it looks like a repeat of last year - very little rain from August to January apart from one or two isolated downpours.

Gus, it isn't better up here. Apart from our lucky fluke on that bit of rain our place is dry as.

I am not even watering anything until it is on it's last gasp as the dams are dropping so fast just with the wind and heat.

I can't wait for a bit of good soaking rain.

It did make it past Gayndah and Biggenden, and around 11.30 I got up to close the windows silly me. We got 0.5mm
