A couple of small scuds on radar coming in from the sth west. Explains why it's muggy outside at the moment.

Why is it that weatherzone take it upon themselves to modify the BoM forecast. They rarely change the temps, but always stuff around with the type of event, the chance (%)& the amount (mm).
I have no long term obs, but taking partial screen captures in the AM & PM of the 7 day forecast 'box', they are always less correct than the BoM.

Storms definatly will be inland today. Its just whether they make it off the ranges as far north as Cairns.

Anywhere South from Cardwell/Ingham too Mackay has a great chance along the coast from inland thunderstorms thanks to some very rare strong steering winds. ( the jets right over the Herbert Lower Burdekin and Central coast )

You guys up there will need a bit more luck, lets hope we all can do something today. I would recommend chasing today on the Tablelands.

So are some of the other forecasters that try to use BoM's locked models. There's no-one to hold them accountable either.... YET.

Actually 1991 was probably the lowest on record for El arish with 0 mm recorded for Sept and 6.4mm recorded for Oct.
The lowest Oct rainfall recorded was 5.6mm in 2002.

It's good to see the creeks with a bit more flow again, but give it a week with no more follow up rain, and they will be back to what they were last week.
