Today was never the pick for rain. Later in the week things should improve if forecasts hold.

Townsville 256 is showing storms west of Ingham that Cairns 256 isn't picking up. Blind spot or is our radar down?

Very interesting CF. The cell west of Ingham is growing in size and still nothing on 256 from Cairns radar. Maybe a blind spot? We'll have to wait to see it gets picked up as it moves a little closer to Ingham.

Starting to explode with cells west of T'ville now.

Yeah I reckon you're right. I'd have expected it to pick up the tops though .A spec just showed up on the tablelands so the next frame will tell the story.

Brisbane and surrounds look likely to get belted again. Hervey Bay cell may have some hail in it too.

Yeah there is a little spec of black in that cell near Hervey bay which indicates hail alright. They have been smashed lately hey.

That low pressure system of the NSW coast is producing some rain and gusty conditions. They should see some reasonable falls over the next 24hrs. Looks pretty good on radar. Radar

The MT is moving a little further into the western area of OZ in the next few days as well. Forecast map

See that now. However not getting anything around Ingham from that cell yet. It has to be a blind spot. That cell looks like it is going to go right over the top of them and should be showing on the loop now.

Too many mountains/peaks between Cairns and Ingham for the radar to see over I think. Our radar is looking pretty bleak compared to the rest of QLD's frown

Defiantly could be a factor Things. Our radar is boring as compared to the southern areas. can't wait for us to get some action.

The Cairns radar mentions a blind spot down that way but the tops of those storms go up a long way. Perhaps just outside of range too.

That has to be where that blind spot is, as the radar is exploding with cells around Ingham and nothing on the 256 Cairns. Action everywhere except locally.

BOM has increased there severe storm warning area to the Northern Tropical Coast and Tableland area. Not sure why as the radar looks ok.

So jealous of Townsville radar at the moment... cry ..lol
