LOL.

Here you go Aquaman, some of the figures from that first lot that fell between 7am and 9am.

Will have to check but I reckon that Botanic Gardens site will be very close to 400mm MTD. City stations won't be far off neither.

Some bloody close bombs dropped in that first lot. Next line has just hit the coast now - raining heavily.

Awesome totals for some early morning rain. That cloud mass over the GoC is impressive. It's like a gulfie going the wrong way!

Solid rain core on that noisy little cell near Channel Island. Looks like it's about to give Palmy a touch up shocked

Some absolutely epic rain going on near Palmerston over the last hour. Estimating 50+ mm around the Robertson Barracks / Crocodylus park area.

Don't doubt that one bit, just kept on throwing up new heads. Rain core looked quite intense from here.

Cell at the base of the Harbour is spearing out the bolts too at the moment.

Some nice crunchy booms from this current cell. Dropping a few very healthy bolts over the harbour too.

In the city earlier I reckon a strike hit somewhere bloody close as we where getting back in the car. Completely blinding flash and instant deafening crack had a few of the tourists down at Stokes Hill hitting the deck laugh

118mm at that gauge after that lot. Gunn Point looks to have scored 138mm too.

Have a go at that Gunn Point station Ant - 167.5mm from that storm and still getting a pasting.

Cant believe how unbelievably AWESOME some of these events have been so far this season, and so early. From savage storms in town and in the rurals, to these massive rain totals.

Noticed that very defined area of convergence South of Cape Don yesterday evening Orebound, and was so surprised to still see it there 12 hours later and it hadn't moved!! So I had a feeling this morning we would see something good around here.

Woke up at about 9 and checked the radar, got a feeling it was all about to go ballistic over the CBD with a very clear convergence setup happening with that trough.

Absolutely hammered down in the CBD for over an hour and the Stokes hill gauge with 118mm from 9am tells that story well. As MillnerNT just mentioned visibility was definitely down to only a few meters at one point.

Be interesting to see if we get more or similar rainfall from the Low as it hangs around into Sunday night / Monday morning. Have to wait and see.

Ducked out tonight with Balmz to reel off a couple shots around the place while there was a bit of clear air to play with ahead of this monsoon surge arriving over the Top End.

Was nice clear skies when we headed out but doppler was showing the first stirrings of updrafts out in the Timor Sea so we thought it was worth sticking it out until something inevitably went up.

In the end it was more a case of deciding where to frame up as fresh updrafts exploded.

A couple shots below.

Storms just coming ashore now. Quite breezy too.

Amazing scenes out there. Some amazing shots Jase out of our little adventure. These storms have now moved onshore. Absolutely hammering down in the CBD with some very close and hair raising CGs.

Decent monsoonal squalls with this heavy rain. Lovely to listen to.

Yeah and those CBD stations continue pumping out obscene rainfall figures! I see another 160mm recorded at Stokes Hill to go with the already absurd totals being accumulated at that site and a couple other of the coastal gauges in recent weeks. Obviously a nice fall at Gunn Point too, particularly given that the majority of that fell in quite a short period during yesterday morning's storms.
