Updated Tropical Cyclone Outlook for the Western Region

for the period until midnight WST Friday 24 January 2014.
Existing Cyclones in the Western Region:
A tropical low lies over the inland Pilbara. The low will move south and weaken
over the next couple of days. This system will bring significant rainfall to
the eastern Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne, and the Goldfields in the next few days.
Likelihood of a tropical cyclone being in the Western Region on:
Wednesday Very Low
Thursday Very Low
Friday Very Low
There are no other significant lows in the Western Region at present and none
are expected to develop over the next three days. However, this weekend a weak
low could form off the Kimberley and move westwards. On Monday there is some
risk of the low intensifying while over water north of the Pilbara coast.
