No complaints here either about the weather. Got a good blow and it's rained heavy n solid all night. The 3 hour updates from BOM was ridiculous.

It continues to rain n we've got a strong breeze.

Fizzer?
Cat 2, 140km wind, 471mm rain, 1.4m storm surge.
Just because you couldn't see mass destruction from your comfortable lounge chair.
Consider yourselves lucky you weren't scrambling around the house at midnight gathering important belonings together cause the roof is close to lifting off.
Now I have to clear the yard and driveway to see if it's possible to get my wife home from work.
The best thing about this forum is the ignore button which I made good use of through the night.

If that is correct, then the CAN DO people up their ivory towers need to remove
their finger from orifice & remedy pronto!
Definitely not a fizzer, looked like one earlier in the making but ol' Bob didnt disgrace
the name.

From the courier mail....

Senior BoM forecaster Brett Harrison
said resources had limited the
bureau’s ability to issue more
frequent warnings.

“Unfortunately we don’t have the
resources to issue those sort of
warnings more regularly than that,”
he said.

“We did do some media updates
about that time but in terms of the
actual warning product we
unfortunately had to wait for that
three hourly update cycle.”

But senior meteorologist Steven
Hadley said there was no
requirement to update the weather
warnings any more frequently.

I did justify my comment stating it's referring to Townsville where we just had a windy day with a little rain.

There will be repercussions from that BOM statement. Lack of resources, no need for
more updates? Maybe I'm still sleeping & having a bad dream. Disgraceful!!

I think fizzer is a bit harsh we missed everything here in Townsville including the 200mm rain forecast buy everyone but that is the nature of these beasts. The only prediction of it crossing that far south that I saw was from Tuco, which is pretty scary knowing noone new where it was going. I think it caught a lot of people out down there and I hope everyone is okay.

I hope that is not the end of the wet for us here in Brownsville

Well said Willow. It has annoyed me no end to read some of the comments on here about it being a "fizzer" and "I told you so".

I hope you and yours are ok Willow and the mess isn't too bad for you.

Nice comment Willow smile. I was shot down last night for saying basically the same thing. Let's see if the people that had replies for me now head south and help with the cleanup. I strongly suspect they won't!
