As long as we can get those welcoming easterlies like we did last night.
Very hard on pets and plants this achingly dry heat;look forward to some wet stuff.

Welcome to the forums RP. The drizzle can be a pain but we might finally get some proper rain in the next few day's. Had a small amount here before but I'm not sure if it was measurable.

Thanks Marts and yeah im hoping so, this summer has been so boring and a change from the usual weather would be good and hopefully this trough brings some thunderstorms as well.

Precipitation here in Shellharbour has turned from drizzle to rain you can hear on the roof. Obviously from very low topped cloud as it is not being picked up on radar to any degree.

Some heavier showers approaching the northern beaches than what we've seen the past few nights.
Looking forward to the upcoming rain on Friday/Saturday.

Only down in your area,Homer, so far, those showers are coming in from the sea, going to be good sitting on my front verandah through the weekend watching and listening to the rain on the tin roof, may be a storm to watch as well if we are lucky, all the grass brown here should see a green tinge to it after the week end.

I see Observatory Hill copped a quick 3.4mm, a lot in the context of this Summer. It's a warm, cloudy and humid night here on the Central Coast, typical February weather. It was overcast in Sydney this morning but cleared after I crossed the Hawkesbury River around the middle of the day to a warm, sunny, muggy afternoon on the Central Coast.

The last few days have been a pattern of warm nights, cloudy mornings clearing in the early afternoon, with low cloud closing in from about 4:00pm. And trying unsuccessfully to rain.

Got a moderate shower here too last night at about 2330, was quite surprised since the NE stream showers usually avoid down here like the plague. Would have been less than 1 mm though.

A storm or two isn't out of the question this afternoon, though probably confined to the ranges and very outer west.

There's a double rainbow around the sun at the moment if you look up in Sydney.

Can't remember the name but it is the effect you get from the cirrus clouds.

Hurry - the outer rainbow is shrinking from a circle to an arc.

It's a name I use to foresee interruptions to cricket matches.

"Better score some quick runs, looks like the Drizzly Bear is on its way and he's got some bite!"

On another level, I'm hoping it will encourage some rain, much like HumphreyBear portended the non winter last year.

What can I say but WOW!
The second shot is what it looked like from my office window.
Known as a 22 halo apparently.

Anyone notice that Bellambi has just exceeded 25 degrees for only the second time since January 6. Didn't stay above that for long though. I guess those dizzy heights were too much for the Bellambi AWS temperature sensor. What a dreary run of weather that is.

Should see those storms continuing to fire up over the central and southern tablelands this evening, should be some great falls in that under any storms! Western parts of Sydney may even get a few rumbles this evening as some rain moves into the basin smile

Good picture of it on the CW Aviation site.
Finally some rain is on it's way. Yippee!! 30-40 mm's will do wonders for the lawns and vegies. I pity those poor ice-cream sellers though.
I want Humphrey back. frown

Just had some dull thunder but the cell is splitting and going around the higher country as it often does - bugger it!!

Hopefully should get something later on. Plenty of potential - hope it becomes reality.

Annies Ice cream here does well all year round, they won't mind. smile
