Looks like this event is over now. On the coast for the next few days, cloud will spread out in horizontal sheets rather than build up vertically into anything interesting. With temperatures hermetically sealed at 20-22 degrees all day and all night and gusty Southerlies, it's like being inside a huge air-conditioned concrete dome, with the air conditioning turned on full blast.

Columns flying up all over the place out here now. Heaviest buildup over the GDR to my east. However plenty shooting up to the west as well. Looks interesting smile Nothing imminent but interesting.

There's a particularly good looking storm building up over the Orange Plateau. It looks quite promising actually. The Central West Flying school cam would have a good shot of it.

Reasonable chance of a half decent fall in the area over the next several hours I reckon.

Just stepped outside because NE/E wind really picked up strongly and unusually, the storm that had moved past us appears to be building backwards over us. In fact the lower layers are moving east to west which is quite rare here. The whole structure of course is moving sort of to the E/NE.

Slight possibility that this might actually sit over us for a bit, if it develops we may get something.

This is rare but every now and then does happen here.

Looking good for you Dave on the Bathurst webcam and radar.
Hopefully, you'll score at least a drop.

That is quite strange that the storm is building again like that, normally it only happens on the coast where there is sufficient moisture from the ocean and strong enough onshores. A classic example of this happened in November where we got just over 50mm in about 2 hours and our only good storm of the summer

Funny you should mention that November storm outbreak, looks like a similar scenario developing on the Central Coast now- very slow moving and intense cells creeping in from the ocean. Obviously the upper trough is still active.

Looks like just the odd patch of drizzle for down here though and for most of Sydney, the Northern Beaches could get lucky again as they often do.

Yeah looks quite intense actually and its a constant stream of storms too, so when it finally hits Norah Head, they could get extremely heavy rainfall. It's actually quite a strange setup given the strong southerly and cool temps.

And yeah same for here except its been drizzing on and off all day, from the annoying orographic lift and its not even really heavy enough to come up on the radar

Officially zilch for Dave and for Orange Airport. Here on the northern side of town, 20mm thus far; rain has stopped. Again, the frustration of the storm lottery.

Just watching these heavy rain areas just of the coast here,it might move a little further inland later,if so I could get a good drop to night.

These storms are weakening quite a lot as they are hitting the coast and they also dispersing and pushing light showers towards the Sydney's north shore and will possibly do the same for southern suburbs of Newcastle

I did get lucky last night in this area with the storms, ended up with 24mm and a great light show, even had a flang. I think the plateau to the west helped the storm front along last night.
That line of rain up north look's to be creeping slowly south atm.
