These were both taken on the very last day of winter. And what a superb day it was.

This is coming down Victoria Pass, near Mt Victoria at about 7:15am. There was quite a thick fog in the Hartley Valley. The mountain on the other side of the valley is Hassan's Wall and just over the other side is Lithgow.

This photo is on the Macquarie River in Bathurst on a picture perfect day. This was taken at around 10:30am. Temp was about 13C.

Willoughby - WOW, beautifully done.

What lens? Looks slightly wide angle'ish, nice and crisp despite some slight star movement.
Shutter speed not all that long as stars not very elongated at all (just a tad)
High ISO? or did you stay around 400 or so?

Reilly, nice couple of photos there mate. Macquarie quite pleasant, some slight misty remnants about.
Shot from Mt Vic very good. Mt Lambie just left of centre, Hassans Walls pretty much centre.

HASSANS WALLS is one of the absolute best lookouts around, if anyone travelling by, take the time to get up there, more than worth it. smile

Thanks Dave and thanks for the clarification of mtns. What's the valley below Mt Vic called? I had a wild guess and called it Hartley Valley.

I reckon Hartley Valley is as good as any other name. South of the highway it becomes the Kanimbla Valley then further down it is the Megalong.
