Autumn has been a very pleasant in my neck of the bush. Good rain, a few fogs and only a couple of nights where the temps have been below zero.

Well, you know the old, the grass is geener over the fence ..., well this season it isn't. It is totally green everywhere. It is surrealistically green.

At Ledgerton Woolshed, looking towards Devils Peak on the edge of the Bramina Wilderness. In Autumn 30 years ago I first climbed Devils Peak and found a large Aboriginal quarry site. A metadolerite quarry, for making axes and hatchets. Back then I added Devils Peak to the Aboriginal Site Register. This Autumn, I've been back over the fence, to the edge of the Bramina Wilderness, gathering ideas for this Autumn's weather painting.

Horseshoe Road off Mountain Creek Road, not far from Ledgerton Woolshed.

Glenrock Road, joins Mountain Creek Road to Cavan Road, in the valley below the Baldy Range, NSW.

The Blue Range, Baldy Range and the Brindabella Range ... from Sheppherds Bluff.

Again from Sheppherds Bluff over the hills and valleys of the Molonglo and Murrumbidgee Rivers to Mounts Franklin and Aggie.

Warren.

Reillyp, thank you for your rewarding comment Mate. I hope that you can cope with a few more shots? ... from this past week.

From the NSW South Coast.

An extreme brightness range that the camera could barely cope with, possibly approaching a BR of 1200:1 ... (alternative title) The Boardwalk at Mill Bay in Deep Shadow.

Two Magnificent Flyers.

... and from near home, mixed lighting, with an emphasis on lateral colour contrasts.

Mounts Franklin and Corree, shot at Bulgar Creek, from the Bicentennial National Trail.

Reillyp, Cheers Mate. It isn't easy keeping reasonably interesting photos coming, at times ... but I'm always happy to try to oblige. Absolutely.

Today is the last day of Autumn and in my neck of the bush, it still remains a beautifully coloured season.

A few more shots of mixed colour temperatures. The camera's white balance was set to 5500K (for noon daylight) to enhance the lateral colour contrasts in the shadows.

Late autumn light ... with Elms.

Just a straight shot with the camera allowed to determine the colour balance (the white level).

Both complimentary and analogous hues mixed ... with River She Oaks.

Warren.

Beautiful shots WW. I particularly like what you have done with the contrasts in the first image above.

We are yet to get the right conditions for the truly spectacular sunsets up here in the tropics but as the fires start to burn out in Kakadu the colours will become more vibrant.

Here's a quick one taken at Nightcliff.

Canon 6D Tamron 24-70mm F/2.8 Lens at 49mm F/16 ISO 50 30 second exposure to smooth out the rough water. Cokin ND Grad. One day we will get a shot at this location without people on the jetty to ruin the shot but anyway.....

How do you get people to stay so still in your shots? Either that or you have some awesome gear for such low light. Some awesome pics in here grin

Here's the view from Clovelly near Sydney late yesterday afternoon. The big pond is the Pacific Ocean. The Ocean is surprisingly calm after a windy 24 hours. The strong Westerly airstream is clean and clear by the time it reaches the coast.
