Thankfully the Gulf of Thailand is pretty shallow. Average depth is only 40m with the deepest down to about 100m. Even if it managed to crash further NE or E then the average depth is only ~1200m, it would have to have gone to the W of the Philippines to reach depths deeper than what Air France 447 was.

I've flown on some of the MAS 777-200's in the past, they are great planes and my fave to fly. Such sad news to hear one 'just disappear'.

surely they must know its last transponder point? and from there calculate all forms of altitude loss scenarios to work out where it went. god if i can zoom in on my own backyard on google earth, then surely some satellites up there can pick up debris fields, oil slicks etc. must feel for the friends and family who still have no answers.

Yes hard to believe that it can't be tracked considering you think that lots of people if they had their phones on would have had GPS, as well the fact that there is a website you can track flights in real time etc...

Lastest info...getting worse

"OFFICIALS are still mystified by the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370. The search has turned up no debris, and authorities are now investigating five passengers who never boarded"

They must have some sort of Satellite link/relay, thermal readings etc, yet nothing. Its not the middle ages, we have apps to find our missing iPhones but no technology to find a giant jet. This is all a bit sus the longer it goes

2 days now and no sign of debris at all. The earlier debris found was dismissed today.

I reckon just put the 2 dodgey passport guys up on facebook and it will be solved in hours.

Unless of course they are innocent and just caught up in a bizarre crash.

Very strange that nothing has been found. Its almost like it has been landed on some remote runway but that would be impossible to go undetected. It would have to be on the sea floor. Very weird indeed.

By having a connecting flight from Beijing apparently meant they did not need a visa into China and therefore skipped additional security screening. Could have been planned to be that way.

Here's the radar of the flight. Notice that at 3:03 2 other planes on the right lose contact as well.

MH370's altitude goes from 35,000ft to 0ft in half a second, strange.

Nothing reported so far shocked has been substantial evidence of what happened to MH 370 .

I did read on an aviation site that their was a slim chance it may have been hit by a meteorite and disintegrated. One pilot said he had seen one once go past while flying at night.

shocked

This has just come to hand ....

Regarding satellite imagery, I read that the US and NASA actually checked that, and after analysis, no explosion found.

Getting stranger by the minute..
