Yes that is a little different isn't it.

Weather looking okay for the eastern break as cold fronts brush south east Australia meaning cooler weather for the ACT in westerlies but plenty of sunshine in and around Sydney and the central coast.

Westerlies and high pressure at our latitudes are finally appearing on the horizon if the models are correct, although we have a few more days of Southerlies to endure. Hopefully that cloud band spiralling into Ita doesn't reach this far South. It's reached Coffs Harbour. We don't need it. This constant cloud, damp and drip-feed rain is getting monotonous.

That dry and sunny weather cannot come soon enough. It really is getting ridiculous now.
In the past 10 days Sydney Airport has averaged 2.2 hours of sunshine a day.

Maybe there should be a one off tax levy to set up a fund to assist the beach side tourist and day tripper businesses.

Autumn colours are starting to show around Sydney:

Change of Seasons by SteveSeven77, on Flickr

This morning was the coldest at Observatory Hill since December 6. Yesterday, while not that cool, was the coolest maximum at OH since November 18 and the first sub-70 degrees F since late November.

Definitely an error Stormy3 because their not even gradual totals; 53mm in 30 minutes and then 8mm in the next 30. I really hope they don't put this rain into the Penrith rainfall stats.

Cold, cloudy and miserable here with light showers right on the coast. The Airport says it's 19c but it feels cooler than that, with the low-ish dew pt.

Getting our 200th shower on the coast now, cool, wet and windy and best of all there's hardly been any sun since the start of the month! Should squeeze in a few more days of this according to the forecast.

He he. Enjoying this weather are we Bokkey?

I'm sure I will enjoy mowing the Kikuyu when the weather dries out eventually. I'm sure I saw a herd of wildebeest in my yard yesterday. I can't confirm that as they were well hidden amongst the grass.

Bucketing sideways, wont last long but wow bit of a surprise there. We finally get the goods, people finally get their wish but nope, the locals here are complaining already. As soon as the sun comes out it'll be "too boring". Never happy poke

Yes it is. Installed it last week. Anemometer on the roof and the rest in an exposed part of the yard.

Still getting to grips with all the software options etc, however I'm really enjoying geeking out with two of my hobbies; weather and IT.

Yep, I was just checking it out, it would be good for those people living on the Northern Beaches especially with the coastal showers that aren't hitting the Terrey Hills AWS, but are obviously hitting Beacon Hill. Good job kizz smile

It was nice and sunny just 20 minutes ago and now it's clouded over and cold again

Well unfortunately there is supposed be showers tomorrow and then showers will move northwards on Wednesday bringing a fine Thursday.

Easter is generally meant to be fine weather (Saturday could see light coastal showers) which is very unusual, from memory usually good friday is fine and warm and then a southerly brings drizzle and cool weather just in time for Easter.

Thank you Aussiestormfreak.

The upper Murray valley is a beautiful part of the world. I drove trough the area about 10 years ago in early May. There was early snow on the Alps and spectacular Autumn displays lower down. There was a place called Harrietville, beautiful Autumn trees lining the main street, it looked like an postcard version of a small New England (USA) town.

Up here on the Central Coast I got caught in a heavy shower around 5:00 pm while walking the dog. The dog and I arrived home soaked. Forgot to check the radar before going out. There's been persistent light rain / spitting since.

Looks like a fine Easter coming up. Looking forward to it. I grew up in Sydney. In most of my memories of the Easter Show it was wet. I read that Easter in the Northern Hemisphere absorbed prior pagan Spring festivals. If Easter had developed here it would have coincided with the festival of the Rain God, with prayers and burnt offerings entreating him him to go away.
