Well the season kicks off again this week. Anyone care to place an early post on this years Premiers.

Personally I think this could well be the Cowboys year. The good vibes have already started, putting a trophy in that otherwise empty trophy case is fantastic for club moral. I am sure that now the boys have had a taste of winning things can only go forward for them under their new coach. Good luck boys.

Looking forward to the weatherzone footy tipping comp again .

PS, thinks the Broncos will be heading to the bottom early and staying there most of the season.

Glad to see the rabbits flog the roosters.

Been quiet on here. Has been a few surprises so far for the season with teams like the rabbitohs and Cowboys struggling as the are and others like the EELS(my team) doing far better than anyone predicted. Tragedy also with A knights player now a quadriplegic.

Awesome game between The EELS and Broncos.Free flowing and fast for the better part. Excellent win in the end and it looks like Parra are a completely different team this year. Semi Radrada. What a beast he has become.

In my opinion the tigers are also a completely different team in 2014. All the new players they got in the last couple of years have now made a pretty good team.

The first game last night started very slow from the fairly heavy rain that blanketed Penrith.

Parra beat Roosters 14-12. Held them scoreless in the second half. Damn what a turnaround from the last two years grin

Getting rid of under performing senior players who thought they ruled the den,was the key to moving forward.

Going into pre-retirement mode, concentrating on post footy careers does not give the club or fans good service

This is exactly right, under performing seniors who have a good reputation because they WERE good.

Anyone else see the Cowboys robbed again tonight via the pro NSW refs and Manly. Forward passes , obstructions , ball played at and try count not restarted ect ect. Apparently none of these apply to Manly . mad

Starting to get a bit too consistent now.

Gutted again. This game is degenerating, shame on those in charge who are hellbent on pandering to the latte sipping yuppy mums and dads and forgetting about their core fan base. A real shame where this game is heading.

+1 !! I wouldn't blame the Cowboys if they just walked off in protest.
The refs tonight were a disgrace and you could just see it coming about the last 20 minutes. It started when 3 Cowboys were making a tackle , the Manly player continued to struggle and wrestle and would not surrender. Eventually the ref called held and simultaneously blew the whistle and called a penalty against the tacklers for not releasing . Another 6 to Manly and they score on that set..enough said.

I am a Parra supporter and we have been copping that sort of thing for years and no one seemed to care. As soon as it is a QLD team all hell breaks loose.

And to Qualifiy that statement I hate Manly as much as everyone else grin

I don't think the St George players will agree with you that the refs are NSW biased.

Truly woeful video ref decision stole victory from Storm too. As Wally Lewis said immediately after "It's little surprise the game is bleeding supporters".

Just a bit of karma for the Storm, who got away with 2 points against the Dragons, the Monday before, thanks to an error by the officials! Of course, Smith, Bellyache and co weren't complaining then were they!

That's Bs, you think back in the 80's and 90's had all the video ref involvement.
I'M sure back then bad decisions were made and games were won or lost on bad decisions. Though back in the day the reply weren't shown 10 times over to get so many different opinions.
what's killing the game is the constant eye on it, taking every little discrepancie under the magnifying glass.

on field ref's and side line official's need to take more control of the game and use there eyes and confidence to call the game.

At a close call then it's good to review it but to look at every angle if just a waste of time.

Ease up turbo. That is exactly what my "It's destroying the game" comment was about. The video ref mistakes. They need to go back to ref's call and stop the commentators from constantly picking the bones out of it to the point where ultimately they forced the video ref into the game.

Fans are sick of it.

B.S is the part about it being karma. The teams don't make the calls. The refs do.
