Speaking of which, looks to be the SSW stream establishing in gulf St Vincent, which sends precip up through Clare and into the Mount Bryan district, if it has indeed snowed up north, that area would have similar chances. But geez that Spencer stream, classic stuff, training Port Germein area with heavy showers then straight up into the hills. Still with the occasional spark as well, gunna be a fun night for them up there.

I would have to think 80mm + 9am falls locally up there.

Gulf of St Vincent stream pretty impressive too, been pouring here since sunset. Up to 26mm for this system, on top of 28mm earlier in the week!

Certainly headsup, if it can maintain will be some solid totals under it. Intensity wise one of the better ones I have seen smile

Strong cell heading into Port Germein, will be copious amounts of hail in that!

Markus - I was using a 1 C/100m lapse rate (reasonably typical of a cold outbreak situation) and assuming a snow boundary of between 1-2 C. The road into Mount Remarkable National Park from the east goes pretty high to climb over the ridge, but I'm not sure if it would be as high as 700?

Looking amazing. That rain sooo close yet so far. Fair bit of lightning heading towards Pt Germein too. Perfect position. Pirie ticking the totals over nicely. Love to have a weatherstation at Pt Germein in these setups

Would love some of that rain running along the coast. EC picked that very well.

Taking a look back at the past 14 years from January to May 2, 2000 was the wettest with 171.6 mm and got 643.8 mm for the year.
I dunno, might be a decent year for rain, I've received 190.0 mm.

Yes, would be some nice totals ticking over in the Long Plains area at the moment. That Pt Germain cell is a ripper, and Mt Remarkable is right in the firing line!

Just like me, would like a station set up at Two Wells and Dublin, Two Wells would have received a decent fall. 20 or so mm.

Looks like that's it for rain, anything getting a distance is dying completely. Would have loved that rain in the Gulfs, more handy on land rather than water, could have picked up 15 to 20 mm out of that.

Dead calm here.

Add on: Hmmm, Roseworthy apparantly has recorded 0.0 mm, very strange with that AWS.

Was a matter of time before that was going to happen.

Just a couple of pics around sunset. Some nice mammatus went directly overhead and there were a few messy looking coldies around the place. This view looking accross the gulf from Crystal Brook. Man it was cold out there frown

Actually I'm now wondering if this started sparking as it headed for Port Germein. I wouldn't know as I was home thawing out ...

The cell is located directly 1.5 km NW from me ._. , would like some hail but no chance with the rate this is going. All we're getting are small drizzle showers.

Shower streams over the gulf are starting to go more southerly with the showers starting to edge ever so closely towards us. Maybe a few mm's for us yet =)

BoM's MetEye forecasting chance of snow for St Mary Peak tonight around 1am. Probably not likely, but interesting all the same!
