If overnight min temps forcast for mid next week pan out for Norah Head I will not be migrating to a doonah anytime soon. Need some info on what type of winters followed mid May warm spell.

Looks like a long period of warmish, benign weather for Sydney over the next 10 days or so. Access hints at a cold front in about a week's time, while it's all clear in GFS out as far as it goes.

We can probably add a degree or two to the forecast maxima at Observatory Hill.

Maybe only till next weekend....? Both access and GFS have a pretty chunky ECL bombing. Hope it comes off. Want to harvest some of this warm SST before it hits our dry season. Usually after June around here. We have missed most of the heavier coastal stuff that hit over the last few weeks. Dams aren't full and subsoil is dryish around here. 10k's east everything is brimming. Need to get it soaked before the boy kicks in.

Dry subsoil here in northern Sydney too. I've been doing some serious digging and our clay subsoil is dry. Some of our citrus look moisture stressed on breezy days, and the lawns are drying out. Most rain has been very coastal. This is a very early drying spell - most recent years the dry spring has hit here in late July/August. "The boy" eh?

It was a cool and cloudy day in Canberra (max of 14.4, but mostly hanging around 12-13), though the wind was relatively light and the air reasonably humid, preventing it from being a cold day. A brief shower of rain around lunchtime (but not enough to wet the pavement), followed by the odd spitting drop of rain at times during the afternoon.

Hi Stormy3
I was up your way today in the Hunter Vineyards, those storm clouds certainly did look impressive, unfortunately they just did'nt want to get going, just the odd rumble and spit.

Here is a pic from some of the offshore stuff earlier this evening.

Mild, partly cloudy day in Canberra. Barely a breath of wind, even up on the higher ground at the Arboretum.

According to Sean Carson, we should expect the rest of the week to be like today. The humidity softens the extremes and no fog ! (not here anyway).

The colder weather of a week ago really got me excited that this winter may have been an actual winter but alas thus spell of warm doldrum weather makes me want to scream. Back to two blankets and no jammies all this week on Central Coast. I guess in millions of years of weather high pressure belts have blighted countless winters in S.E Oz but its such a boring weather pattern to actually experience. Give me wind that blows the cobwebs away and drowns out some of the racket modern times produce

That was Saturday? Miserable little bit of rain late in the day after a spitty day, 1/2 a mm at my place. But Sunday was great, after a foggy/low cloud start, it got very warm indeed. I started in sleeves and had to change to a t-shirt, and opened up the house. 18c seemed to be most of the arvo, and it didn't get cold until quite late.

Looks like we're in for this all week, sunny mild days in the upper teens, 20c on Friday and Sunday which is prettty amazing. Would prefer some rain though. I figure it's the high centered on inland SA making things fine and warmish. Would love some of teh moisture they're progging for the coast though.
