Certainly has been a interesting afternoon, still warm and humid atm, probably had 1-2mm in that thundery shower.
Some nice structure got going from that cell, once it got out to sea!!
I will post some pics later this evening.
Here is a short timlapse from this morning sunrise.

It was quite a cool, calm, cloudy day here for the most part but we had a few hours of sunshine in the afternoon and northerly winds, so the temp managed to make a late top of 20C smile

That storm offshore from about Terrigal looks nice on radar. It would be good to hear what the storm was like from davidm, as the storm went through Copacabana. I must say I never expected storms today.

i think davidm has moved?, I had been using his weather station as it seemed more accurate than mine and I only live about 500m away but it has been down for weeks now and I haven't heard from him,
nevertheless it was cracker, beautiful structure to look at. It almost seemed supercelluar with a very strong inflow, was waiting for a waterspout as it went off shore but to no avail, I should of got my cam out and got some shots but i just got home from work as it arrived.

You not alone. Bom persisted with sunny and 20 % or less chance of rain. Was cloudy with some extended breaks today here but very warm for this time of year. Just stopped showering here. There was some fine storm clouds visible before dark set in. Partic to SE and to SW. Don't like standing round on rocks with storms brewin. Remember back in 1990 At Surfest at Newie Beach (think it was 1990) and a young guy copped a bolt from a storm cell. He survived. He was standing on a wet rocky outcrop
Lucky young guy.

Oh wow, nice piece of information there and it's days like these that people underestimate where things like that happen. Indeed, a very lucky guy!

I must say I was a little optimistic about this forecast; I expected possible showers but not storms.

cheers Reillyp :), I really hope dave hasn't moved tho, it was great to have a mature member and the dedication for great pics/timlapses ect for the forum living in the same town.
I saved them all to my hard drive!, Im only 22 still an amateur in many ways although my first memory's are waiting for the weather on channel 9 with Brian Henderson every night 2 inches away from the tv jumping for joy Haha, But if dave has moved ill try fill the void of the nice pics for you guys in time smile.

Very nice photo Eddy! Perfectly captures how defined the cells where with no scud or other interference's, The fast moving nature made them quiet hypnotic to just sit and watch in bliss:),
I really wasn't expecting anything today as most of you said aswell. Seemed quiet out of season, Anyone agree?

Thanks Homer, WJ, RP & AA
Little bit overnight rain, unsure of how much fell, probably 1-2mm.
Forecast for today is very similar to yesterday, so would'nt be suprised to see much of the same as yesterday!!

Balmy night with no wind. Clear start to day. Bom throwing in greater percentage chance of rain than yesterday. Guess that means no precipitation today lol. Anyway you slice it today another warm one. Shame swell isnt bigger as these extended NW flows making nice offshore conditions. Still bikinis about near end of June. Crazy

Hey Eddie - another beauty there!! What a great looking cell that is!!.

Another day another huge fog here smile

About zero this morning and a pea souper. Boy everything is just SOAKED through from the fogs this week. It fair dinkum looks like it's rained every morning it occurs.

Orange again warmer than us atm, obviously clear over there.

Should be a nice day once this clears (which just might take a while today). smile

Winter is in Bx and I love it. Fire works well and house is toasty inside. smile

Yeah you are/were very lucky to have another forumer living in the same town. The closest people to me are about 10-15 minutes away which are Stephen Jarratt and Michael Thompson (Stephen-Wx and ozthunder) who only occasionally post on this thread.

And you think you're an amateur because you're 22, I'm only 15 lol poke

And another crisp morning here and looking forward to a lovely day again, it is already 17C. I assume it will be warmer than the forecast top of 19C unless a seabreeze moves through in the next couple of hours.

Wind has little bit more SW in jt here now. Some cloud coagulating to north. So much of a September or April feel today. Hard to believe solstice today.

The wind here has turned from W/SW to S/SE'ly but so light that it hasn't effected temps 10km away from the coast where I live. Still 20C but feels a couple of degrees cooler due to low humidity.

And agreed WJ, definately hard to believe it is the shortest day of year. I mean theres even thundery showers and storms developing along the coast and tablelands north of the Hunter. Unbelievable!
