Hey Stormy, certainly "red sky at night" in that. One of my brothers lives at San Remo, not far away!!

Big fog here this morning added to -2 temps earlier, currently around zero and with no sun feels MUCH colder than previous sunny frosty mornings. Will end up a lovely day for sure.

Sounds like fog might be pretty wide spread.

My dad lived at Charmhaven last year, which is pretty much next door to San Remo! smile

Sitting on 17.4C here, we're certainly well on our way to hit the predicted max of 21C smile

Hahaha WJ, not Mount Boing Boing smile It is a mountain that's about 5 km WSW of me. It's provides a really good view of the southern Illawarra.

Just came back from Port Kembla. There was quite a breezy, cool NE'er there and 18C. Much more pleasant out here with a light NNW'er and 23C temp smile Wind should turn NE'ly here soon.

In Sydney the fog cleared mid morning to a fine, blue sky day with streaky high cloud about. It warmed up quickly from late norning, enough to awaken the NE'er, a sea 'breeze' now, not the sea 'gale' it will soon become.

Prob Mt Sugarloaf up this way is equivalent of Mt Bong Bong reilly. Offers great views of lake Macquarie, Hunter Valley and Newcastle. How high is Mt Bong Bong asl?

Hit 21 today. Wind a northerly late arvo with maybe just a tinge of NNE. Was loads of burn off smoke to NW and west. Thought it may have made for a great sunset but that didnt happen.

Though we need rain, I hope cloud not obscure the brightest of this years supermoons on Monday evening.

Your right there WJ with the smoke haze, plenty of it up here.
Temp got to 21c and felt warmer than that because there was very little wind!

Anyway climbed the big old hill, here are a couple of pics
Halfway up Yacaaba looking up the Bay.

Up the top looking in a NE direction Cabbage Tree Island with part of Broughton Island in the top left corner.

Looking south towards Tomaree Headland and Fingal Bay Lighthouse to the left of pic.

You can see a few more through my flickr account.

Nice photos Eddy, looks like you had a good time. Re- the first photo: What direction is that facing, and what is that mountain range in the photo called?

WJ- Mt Bong Bong is about 550m ASL

Must be quite a cold air mass this one. Bega dropped from 8.1 at 7.38 am to 5.8 at 8.04 as winds turned SE.

Some strange temp anomalies around this morning.
Over 5 degrees difference between Camden and Campbelltown, and Orange is exactly 9 degrees warmer than Bathurst. That'll keep uncle DaveM happy!!

Homer it looks like the wind is going all around the compass at bega!!

Reillyp the first pic is looking in a Westerly direction, i dont think that mountain range has a name but is in the North Arm Cove area!!

Plenty of high cloud about this morning.

Yeh, the Circlely has certainly arrived. smile

Overcast and chilly this morning with a light westerly.
I'm quite looking forward to this week's colder temps and a bit of moisture.

Thanks Eddy, yes certainly lots of altostratus cloud about, but quite mild. Not even a glimpse of blue sky around.

Looks like tomorrow will be completely different with partly cloudy skies and cold temps

Thanx.for bong bong info reilly. Thats about 100m higher than Sugarloaf.

Nice pics eddyg. Great area. For great whites too round those islands. Amazes me as surfers go about their business in waters that the night before saw a great white cruisin by or a bully feastin on salmon at dusk. Call me a pussy but I aint gonna surf again. Mind you its not just surfers chancin it. Always see spear fisherman in the briny at dusk over a rock platform. Russian roulette. Some seals about. Well you can guess wotz learkin.

Nearly 17 already here. 21 yesterday. Gonna plunge morrow if forecast of 13 - 14 holds up. Keep warm sox handy.
Fair bit of layered cloud about. NWester and that hot look. Smell of smoke in air. Need them burn offs but hate to be asthmatic given drift over popluated areas.

Beautiful day, sunny day now. All that high cloud has now cleared away to the east, with westerly winds behind it.

We haven't been affected by any of the smoke burn offs down here. And today is no exception, once again it's clear and devoid of smoke.

WJ- I've actually seen a shark about 150m away from me once when I was surfing. I paddled in as quick as I possibly could. About 3 days later I surfed in the same spot and even nowadays I quite regularly bodyboard at that spot. Yes, you could say it is like Russian Roulette but I'm willing to take those chances to do something I love and am passionate about.

Did you used to surf back in your day, WJ?
