Great photos guys
WJ- That base looks awesome, really looks like it's ready to rain in that photo.

Eddy- What a nice storm cell for Winter. Yes, agreed all we need is some lightning there!

Thanx for photo compliment folks. My budget android camera didnt capture that nasty formation all that well but better than nothing. Eddy, that pic of a tasty stack was fantastic. You capture some great cloud stuff.

Just drove through one of the heaviest downpours in a good while about 30 mins ago. I lost complete sight of the road and any reference point and due to being on the Swansea bridge I couldnt pull over. Fair dinkum, a submarine would have been the go. What impressed me were the size of the raindrops. Humungus. This sea to shore flow just keeps delivering the cloud juice.

Yeah, quite surprising how heavy the downpours would be if you were under them. Nothing like that down here. Just drizzle this morning and a few light showers tonight, all with pussy little raindrops. Nothing like whats happening up the Central Coast and Hunter.

Great on the spot shot Con. That was same base I spied at 1pm further north.

Nuvver heavy downfall here around 9pm after a fairly dry day. Soggy ground.

Just had a big boom from a heavy looking cell to my west, but it is heading further west, heavy rain areas out to sea and off the central coast and Hunter coast as well.

Just saw my first Eastern Water Dragon of the season, sunning itself on the bank of the Lane Cove River.

Spring is here (sort of).

Noticed on the forecasts the strong southerlies ease off right at the end of the month. It's like clockwork the seasons.

According to OCF expecting a rather mild 22-23C on Sept 1st followed by a 24-25C on the 2nd right across the metro.

Yeah, the rain must be heading further north now, it's all blue skies here atm, apart from a little bit of StratoCu to the east. Surprisingly cold here as well, the air still has that winter bite some mornings! smile

How much rain have you had for the month WJ? and what station do you refer to now that you live at Swansea?

I am smack bang between Norah and Nobbys Aws Reilly. They are both coastal exposed as you know and though some differences with hinterland topography ie Nobbys gets funneled valley winds and wind off harbour etc they pretty much reflect whats happening round here. There is a marine rescue site near my location that does temp and wind stuff during day but they dont post it on net. Nobbys has recorded 163mm so far this August and Norah 212.
Nobbys a bit higher elevation than Norah.
Yes a tad nip in air this morning with wind from Wsw

Showering again

Looks like the ECL is coming back onto the coast. Weather has drastically changed here in the city. Radar showing rainfall moving inland.

Yeah, we've had a few brief showers as well. It's basically been cloud/showers one minute and sunshine/blue skies the next. We're in a sunny phase atm.

So damn sick of this weather... Luckily I'm going to Bathurst to see my uncle and aunt on Sunday, so I will get a glimpse of blue skies and sunshine! smile
