Looks like my prediction of no rain was wrong again. It was dry and partly for most of the day, then a 3 minute shower with strong, icy winds moved in at about 2pm. The cloud is starting to break up again now.

3.6mm in the 24 hrs to 9 am this morning, been a mainly dry day, wind is still gale force from SW, but in the last few hours starting to swing more southerly.
Update on Jimmy's beach erosion, last night's high tide was quite small 1.2 from memory but this arvo tide was 1.6 which has further damaged the road, see pic below
https://flic.kr/p/p3zGuN

For locals there should be a segment on NBN tonight!!

Good onya Eddy for Jimmys beach updates. Sand really unstable.

Swell pretty big and chaotic. One brief shower consisting of 6 drops of rain on windscreen at around 2.30pm. Very blustery SSWester at moment and icy. Cut right thru ya. Reached around 16 or so today. Delicious.

Soon as I posted down she comes. Icy shower.

Wow Eddy, that is serious erosion. Have they started dumping sand there yet?

What a waste it was dumping sand there over the past couple of weeks. It's all gone now.

True that, it was just a waste. Yes dumping boulders would work, but it would ruin the look of Jimmy's beach. Boulder's aren't exactly nice to look at.

Yet another miserable day today. Waking up to the sound of rain made me soooo happy... mad

Might clear up later though smile

Now can we enjoy some REAL September weather?

Cool out here again, about zero overnight. Cloud pushing over from you coasties, won't give me any rain but will make it seem cool with a breeze.

At least next week looks like low 20's for coastal areas (specifically looking at The Entrance)

You should get a chance to dry out a bit. We need a drink around bx still. Will dry out here quickly with warm sunny weather.

14.5mm in the 24 hrs to 9 am this morning.
This wet weather is becoming very annoying now something like 22 days I've recorded rain out of the last 26 days.
Least the wind has died down, seem to be under a bit of a rain train atm.

Yeah your not wrong there!!
Apparently it was over 400 truck loads they dropped there a few weeks ago!!

It's frustrating to watch!!

Stormy3 that's probably the most common answer, but for some reason council are not willing to do it!!

In Sydney today, after some overnight showers and a cold start, it's been partly cloudy in Sydney. We still have that biting Southerly making it feel colder than it is. We had a passing shower this morning but now it's sunny, windy with drifting lowish cloud but also lots of blue sky.

That beach erosion looks bad. Maybe the reason for dumping sand might be to hold the line until conditions ease, preventing more of the road falling into the sea.

Winter does not want to leave us yet. It's a contrast to the first 5 days of last September in Sydney.

Raining really heavy atm, it's been partly cloudy again most the day with about 4 short showers throughout the day. Interesting stats Steve. I bet those first 5 days of Sep last year were also rainless.

Even a couple of showers out here that pushed over from the SE - very rare from that direction for us.
