Another miserable day today with uniform layer of stratus cloud and on and off drizzle. Blue sky is starting to pop up towards the east.

it was huge like a tornado from the states!

Once you make the flickr account the site should talk you through how upload a pic. When you've successfully uploaded it:

1. click on the photo and then on the bottom right of the pic there are 3 options telling you what you can do with the photo.

2. One symbol is pen on paper, then arrow pointing right, then arrow pointing down.

3.Click on the arrow pointing to the right (share photo) then click on BBCode and choose the size of the pic, then you can adjust the size of the pic ( I usually do 600 x 480).

4. Then copy and paste the link onto the forum smile

Whoops just realised it's a film, not a photo, sorry Andrew. Steve's instructions are probs more helpful now.

That's great Andrew. Look forward to seeing it.

You could also upload the video to Youtube and post a link here. You need a Google Account but I think nearly everone has one - Google pretty much forced one on me. Youtube provides instructions on how to upload.

It's been partly cloudy here, with some long sunny breaks. Haven't seen any rain since early this morning but we had a fair bit overnight.

Thanks guys, i just made a flickr account but it said upload time 50 mins so i just went through youtube but ill use flickr now for further uploads.
here the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GP8QDQ6svhY&feature=youtu.be
excuse the swearing and shaky filming the gutter started flowing on my head and I was just in awe at the time, if only i was awake i could have caught the whole thing as by the time i start filming its already hitting the headland and loosing structure, my dad said it was a fully formed rotating tornado with water spraying everywhere when he first saw it coming in, so im sure other people would of filmed it aswell to send into the news for tonight!
the headland it hit is a national park with a track to the end ill have to go up on Tuesday and asses the damage if any.

Cheers Reilly, thats facing dead south, the spout was heading S/W.
im really bummed i missed mostly the whole thing and made such a meal of the recording, it done it no justice.

I wonder with its size if it made landfall on the beach instead of a mountain if it would of become a tornado or not?

Thanks Andrew, I thought it was facing south but wasn't sure. Yeah that must have sucked that you missed most of it. At least you still saw some of it smile smile

Looks like spring will be in action for most of week but of course there's crappy surf forecast. Only expecting tiny 1ft NE windswell from Tuesday until Friday shocked

Of course the surf will pick up in time for the southerly coldness on Friday..

I know the surf was crap today but atleast its dropped off so the beaches can regain some sand, especially for your area ED smile
Bring on spring!!!

Well done Andrew capturing that funnel. Wouldnt want to be wearing a toupee anywhere near something like that. He he he. Nasty.

Thought we had finally said au revoir to the showers but had another brief one around 7.30pm. Looking at a trifecta of warm days from Tues to Thurs. Good drying days.

Like many allergy sufferers I'm not a great fan of spring. All that pollen.

I'm yet another one that suffers hay fever (not often tho), especially in September. Despite this, I still love spring smile Although I actually haven't had hay fever yet, thanks to maritime weather.

I must say tho I'd much prefer a warm sunny day with lots of pollen blowing (and put up with minor hay fever) any day over rainy weather with no pollen.

Nooo complete utter devastation what a natural disaster! will be in the billions to fix up that doo haha.

Funny you guys mentioning hay fever, last spring was the first time id had it same with my mum and dad it seemed to linger on and on when dad worked out a wattle tree next door was blooming for the first time and the sea breeze was bringing the pollen straight into our house, the neighbors happily cut it back and it cleared up for all of us within a week smile

Looks like it already needs another pruning or the sea breeze will be blowing more than just the storms away hehe..

Hahaha good one Andrew. The NE'er and the mountains make it very hard to get good storms here.

Mostly sunny here this morning, only a little stratoCu to the east. You might get pollen blown the house this arvo as winds should be light to mod N'ly and will likely tend NE'ly in the late morning and likely to become moderate to fresh on the coastal fringe by the mid arvo.
