I don't know the background of the terms used in english to refer to the seasons ie spring etc. I would prefer season be called Sneeze. Be doing a bit of that this week me thinks.

As for today. its mellow. Blue sky and stillish

Webcams show a bit of fog around Sydney, even this late: http://www.sydney-webcam.com/index.php?nav=cam1. (Picture will change)

Fog means a fine day to follow. We might even get two consecutive days without rain. About time.

Bright and sunny here.

Thanks for the waterspout video Andrew.

I hope there's no more rain for a day or two, I just sprayed the front yard for weeds!!

But it's nice to feel that warm sun.

What a beautiful clear morning it was this morn! That quickly changed with the arrival of the seabreeze and cloud. Quite surprisingly cold and unpleasant outside with a breezy NE'er. Water temp must be around 16-17C, judging by the temps on the coast. I'm hoping for no seabreeze tomorrow, it's just too cold when it happens in early spring. The seabreeze only really feels pleasant from late November/early December until April

Water temperature about 10km off Sydney has been around 17.5 +/- 0.5 for ages, with a spike to 18.4 this afternoon:

http://new.mhl.nsw.gov.au/data/realtime/sst/Sydney

It's probably colder inshore.

Pretty sunny today, although the sea breeze was hardly warmer than the Southerlies of the past week.

Thanks for that Steve, yeah it must be colder inshore. Surprising that the NE seabreeze is still holding on here. Usually in Dapto/Albion Park the seabreeze drops off between 0 and 30 minutes after sunset and is succeeded by a land breeze.

The fog this morning is still shrouding the top of the escarpment, although it is starting to fade away ever so slowly. Very rare for morning fog on the highlands to be seen shrouding the escarpment in the Illawarra. Looks like it should be a nice day for spring lovers, with mod-fresh N'ly winds likely to tend fresh NE'ly again along the coast.

There's also the slight chance of thunderstorm activity late Tues night into early Wednesday, thanks to the low and trough. Although storms (if they happen) are more likely out to sea, than on land and will move very fast thanks to strong wind shear.

TTS having winds between 110-120km/h with 143km/h gusts at 7am. These winds are a good indication at how fast storms may move early tomorrow morning

154km/h gust just on 8am at Thredbo.

Still well into the 100's so it could go higher.

Half decent breezes around here at the moment, brisk but not heavy.

Cloud cover getting relatively solid although no sign of imminent precip.

154k at Thredbo is nasty!!

Tennis semi final could be a tad breezy tonight.

Lovely and warm today, hit a top of 23C. Still warm atm, just a tad under 23C as the northerly is still winning here. I notice that the NE'er came through at Albion Park, so it shouldn't be long before we see it here.

Nothing out here yet. Radar reckons some light stuff not far away but nothing much I can see. Maybe a couple of spits within the next half hour but I can also see clearer skies behind this cloud.

Nothing much around here for several hours yet I suspect.

We maxed out at around 19 degrees.

Yes observations show no rainfall at Gosford for example yet it was under blob.

Around 20ish today. As with yesterday an ENEaster kicked in after a slight buildup of some convective cloud NWestwards and killed it off. Expecting another warmie tomorrow. I really felt like a de hibernating bear today. Mind you the onshore wind late arvo still chilly.

Staying at Hillston tonight with work and just had an intense storm come through. Not a lot of wind but some heavy rain and hail. The hail was only the size of 5c pieces but was an intense fall and lasted a good 5 minutes.

Yeah that seabreeze is actually quite chilly aye. We got it all day yesterday and it was unpleasant to be outdoors without a jumper or jacket. Luckily today the seabreeze never arrived here.

Nice to hear theres storms out there Alby. As that low and trough move east, there could a tiny chance of t'storms here early tomorrow morning, however it's more likely to happen off the coast.
