Yep she's pretty dry Things.

That's a decent outing for shore fishing HF. Good fun.

It was a cracker of a day CF. Will head up that way again on Sunday for a fish.

This is an interesting read regarding BOM changing the way they forecast rainfall and the terminology they use.

Introducing new forecast terminology

Yeah they did a survey that I took part in about descriptions matching perceptions . Now we know why. One less thing for the protagonists to bitch about wink

It will be interesting to see what they do with the new super computer. Any improvements to forecasting are always welcome. Trying to decide if I should drag the boat out of storage and go for a run this weekend. Last chance for a while.

Google maps shows Richter's feeding into Thomatis as those tributaries that run off Yorkey's Knob Road from Catana wet lands. Of course it is google maps so it doesn't mean it is right .

A friend called me at work yesterday to advise, while sitting down at the northern end of the Esplanade watching the kids,it was also noticed a group of pelicans gracefully swimming 200mtrs out from the shore. She witnessed a Pelican in trouble as it flapped its wings in distress, then a huge thrash of muddy water revealed a Croc was in attack. She reckons it took all of about 10secs and it was done; pelican gone!. Needless to say she rounded up the kids who were playing in the sand on the foreshore and retreated back to the playground.

Only to think I witnessed a guy last week, in the same area, cast a net while standing in water up to his hips. People are very complacent and need to respect the environment in which we live.

Well after one of the wettest wet seasons in 20 years for the first six months. Then the driest July for 20 years, not much in August, A spider set up camp in my rain gauge, He sure must of been thirsty, because I could only squeeze out 9mm for the month of September. Don't any of you experianced weather watchers out there mention "El Nino"

Well said Pac and very true.

Have a look at the video I posted 1 page back Cow Bay Bob. This will give you an insight in the current and upcoming weather predictions from the BOM.

Yeah, but what we save on the electricity will be taken up by excess water in the garden, can't win eek

I see the Tinaroo freshie has made a timely return just in time for the Barra classic.

You might have to go south for those storms Trav. Not much doing locally for a while yet. Charleville has a couple forecast the next few days though.

Checked it out last night Trav, very cool.
Feels a bit more tropical today, I reckon the RH might have crept up a bit in the last day and a half

I see they are now looking at another possibility in the disappearance of that woman at Golden Hole.

I don't get ya. Thomatis branches off the Barron, Richter's creek then flows into the part of the Barron delta that is known as Thomatis creek?
