I'll be in the market soon as well actually. Body only and aftermarket lens is the way to go. Tamron make some good ones as well. As a general rule it is better to spend a little less on the body and as much as you can afford on the lens.
And yes. It's crazy CF. I had to drag a blanket on this morning. Very unexpected.

Yeah body only is the way to go. I have a mate who had spare lenses as he has upgraded all of his so I am using those until I decide on a some lenses.

Yeah 17.7 here this morning, bit chilly. Going to be another warm one as the temp is already high than this time yesterday.

I bottomed at 15.9 degs at 5.00am. Absolute madness in November. At midnight I was outside on the phone and commented to my associate that I felt cool then.

I was looking at same one CF, already have one sigma lense off my old 300d SLR.
Beautiful morning in Atherton, makes the fuzzy head feel a bit better after one too many pale ales last night...feels like 30c will be easily reached up here. forgot to check overnight temp this morning.

In Cairns ATM and noticed the same too CF, totally mad for this time of year. This time last year we were getting those 44C heat index days where it was almost unbearable to be outside.

I'm glad I pulled the pull cover back over the pool yesterday .My partner reckoned I was mad at the time.

The Racecourse reflects my overnight minimum also I noticed. Cairns airport's coldest overnight November temp is 14.6 degs but you have to go back to 1947.

It's already 30 degs at home Ron.

Interesting. Looks like a LLC just west of New cal and moving NNW. Be interesting to see whether or not it manages to develop a bit once it hits some warmer waters. Would be lovely if it became a good rain bearing system and hit the coast. Real rain just seems like a dream atm.

No dramatic temperature drop overnight, does that mean a change that might bring real rain to my unusually parched lawns?

Still a little hot out west around Cloncurry. It's still 36c out that way.

Some good shower producing low level stuff well off the coast. Will it make it here though?

Meanwhile check out this guy. Massive nuts.
