Looks like selwyn is now closed for the season, still it's probably been a good season for them once it really got underway.

Who will be next to close?

I'd say Mt Baw Baw (if it hasnt already), because of the lower elevation and the fact that cold fronts are now featuring warmer temps as expected and they're starting to become fewer and further between.

Even Selwyn has a light fresh icing sugar coat this morning. not very thick but it obviously snowed again. If they got it, higher resorts hopefully got more if precip available.

Bureau forecasting a pretty wintery week for the snowies and a couple of cold days for the CT's. Looks to be a fairly complicated looking system going off the MSLP maps. Maybe the last bit of Winter weather for '14?

Never say never Eiger.
It's a pretty good cold blast this week, but I've seen just as good in November.
You never know.....

Homer.

I remember SNOWvember out here in the mid-late 80's, it was a great snowfall in about mid November.

Orange tomorrow about 5 or 7 degrees (depends who you believe). We will be around 10 or 12. smile

2 now and wet snow. Very wet ground so it will need to come down a lot harder to settle.
I'll post in the other thread from now on.

Hopefully there'll be some white stuff left up on the west/northwest-facing slopes of the Australian Alps come Melbourne Cup weekend, which is when I'm most likely heading to Corryong, Northeast Victoria! smile

Otherwise, I was just lucky enough to see a brief flurry of snow/sleet at my house near the Dandenog Ranges on August 1st, only about 10 days before I departed for Fiji! smile

Been good snowfalls in Tassie over the last week or 2 and another solid cold change this coming Saturday. Thickness of 528 over southern parts of the place. Perhaps snow to 500m or maybe lower in places.

Been cold here today(13th) and will linger tomorrow following passage of midlevel disturbance....turned up this morning at the bluff Knoll turnoff(90 clicks from town) to find gate locked - apparently something smouldering out in the park from a lightning strike a night or so before. Wasn't very pleased. Dirty looking cloud with good vertical development - rekkon there might have been a flake or two flying now and then on the summit.

Aye DaveM, it was galling to think 10mm had fallen after they made the decision but it required a plane to go in and check before they would lift it - and because of the weather there was little prospect of that on the day.

Albany airport never quite reached 15 for the day.

Bummer, SB!!

Must be the cousin of the bloke who locks the gate to the Mt Canobolas summit every time the 's' word is mentioned. frown

Forgot to mention that I saw patches of snow up on the high peaks of the Kosciuszko National Park while in Corryong, Northeast Victoria fo the Melbourne Cup weekend. That counts for something, so I'm happy! smile
