Was quite a line of darker clouds outside a while ago, really had that stormy feel to it, but didn't eventuate to anything frown

A few spits this morning. When this dry period breaks, I'd say it will be worth literally dancing in the rain!!!

Rained for a good 10 minutes or so last night, enough to get everything nice and wet. Didn't get a measurement but would have been at least 10mm. Just happened to be right under that little cell grin

nice work things, be good to have a widespread 10mm across the city right now. planted some new grass last weekend, rain would be the best thing for it.

Can only hope Mick, not putting any bets on though. Certainly more activity around than the past few weeks - if we can get a repeat of last night but a bit more widespread we'd be right.

Can definatly see that the easterly component in the mid levels has brought some moisture in.

the coral sea trough will hopefully provide that bit more uplift. damn it would be sweet to get a good 20mm or so.

Heres why the BOM have a chance of storms in the forcast tomorrow. This photo is taken from ECMWF and shows how much CAPE is forcast to be around tomorrow between 5pm and 8pm. You can see the hot spots are right on that Paluma Range to the North and on Mount Elliot in the south.

GFS at the same time has most of its instablity offshore to our SE and it just hangs onto the coast around the Townsville area.

Im guessing we should see a few morning showers moving in from the East - SE, and as the afternoon progresses there is a small chance that there could be some storms on the coast especially on mountain ranges that provide more uplift.

2000 CAPE is nothing to sneeze at though. Bring it on, hoping we can snag something. Storms wont move very fast, if at all tomorrow.
