and a nice isolated red cell about to strike us.....

Does not good for the annual Voices in the Forest, later today.
We were lucky last year, in the boring bits I watched the lightning out to sea.

The Western sky has been dark for a while, although there's not much on the radar. There's a bit of rumbling and light rain here.

The models seem to be predicting an unstable and fairly wet first week or two of Summer, as does the 28 Day rainfall forecast, both across wide areas of the State. I interpret the 28 Day forecast for Sydney to indicate measureable rain on 17 of the next 28 days - hopefully in the form of thunderstorms, not dull sunless days with Southerlies yielding 0.4mm of rain.

I have been filming the storm that passed south of wagga wagga between 5 and 530 pm. In it's early stages it was inflow dominant with a nice rain free base but it then turned into a big guster with 70km/hr outflow winds and some small hail. Overall the day has been dissapointing, with the dryline further east than expected, especially in Vic and also quite cluttered with numerous storms. I think the shows over for today, hopefully tomorrow delivers though the cloud cover may be a problem.

Oops, posted in the wrong thread before.
Anyway not a lot in this storm in Aberglasslyn, and probably <5mm precipitation in total. Car was wet and road as well, before leaving to Singo this morning.

Some light showers on Saturday arvo/evening, ended up about 4 or 5mm, yes I stood out in it for a while. smile

Yesterday we had rumbles and rain for a few hours for about 6mm, nice though.

It appears that the rest of the week is a day by day thing and getting under the correct cloud. smile

Thankfully there has been little shower/storm activity this morning throughout the riverina and CWS - still plenty of unstable looking blue sky. The odds are that storms will pop up shortly in roughly the dubbo - wagga region and head ESE. Just like yesterday moisture levels in northern vic will be dubious by mid afternoon so they'll probably largely miss out again. most eastern areas of NSW should see something but storms may well become embedded before approaching the coast.

Nice black storm has built just to our south and is busily banging away. Won't get us but plenty of other stuff nearby forming as well.

Non-stop rumbling here in Katoomba right now. Incessant - there truly hasn't been any break in it for at least several minutes. Storms are just to the south of town though, not directly over us, we're just on the the edge at this stage.

I haven't heard this in many years - there is NO gap in the rumbling, it's just continuous. It's not massively loud, it's off in the distance, but it's absolutely non-stop. Extremely calm and still too - classic 'calm before the storm' stuff.

Can you push them a bit further, like say coastal areas?

The western sky is starting to look better this afternoon than it did yesterday arvo.

Haha - please do, Dave smile

Well, rumbling is finally dying down, storm doesn't look like it's going to hit us (this one, anyway). Still sitting south of town. It's been stalling over roughly the same area for ages now - must be getting high rainfall totals there, which is good for Warragamba Dam inflow.

I am in Richmond. There is a storm to the W-SW which looks like it will pass to the South. There's some light rain (big drops), constant rumbling and CG's to the West and South West.
