Hello all, been off air for a few days.

Well we finally got some decent precip. Around 30mm overnight Sat/Sun and another few mm on Sunday.

All up about 40mm over a few days. Finally the river has shown a small and brief response, indicates to me that a lot of the district rainfall may have been scattered and/or soaked up.

My yard had received a couple of very light falls in the few days prior and it may have been enough to get the ground receptive. There was not much runoff around my place.

It was so good to hear and see lightning displays even though most were CC's. To hear real rain on the roof was euphoric. The 30mm in one day was out wettest day for the full year to date. Been a long time coming.

For those who still have missed the best of it eg Gringo's Rain, Duane in Wagga, I hope it comes your way this week. It's horrible when you know the country nearby needs it so much but it won't come!!

We finally got lucky, I hope other areas finally get the gaps filled in. smile

Good to hear that you finally had some storm action out there Dave! It's about time!!

A typical December here today with plenty of on and off drizzle throughout the day. After the abnormally good start, this is the first "typical" December day. Not saying it's a good thing though... In fact drizzle, low cloud and southerlies are far from it...

Today looks like another day of severe storms for the illawarra, sydney, hunter, southern and central tablelands area. Storms will be generally moving fairly quickly west to east, however supercells are quite possible and could head in a more northerly direction. Good luck to anyone chasing, I'll be limited to after work action.

It would appear the BoM have changed their tune now...
