Saw a question on that on the NSW Firefighters Group a few weeks ago - the only thing I could find was Forest Fuel Dryness Factor visible on the MetEye detailed forecast page here - http://www.bom.gov.au/places/vic/wallan/forecast/detailed/

No not good at all re all the current fires burning and
no releif with rain thats for sure!
Cant see how they are going to get the major fires out now, baring
good rain.

This is when it really starts drying out two fold when you
get 3-4 days of heat and then a change that only
brings 1mm of rain!

I am still confused by the fact that despite the current 3 fires and Emergency warning and 4 as watch and act with many towns listed (along with those that have been down graded) the media seems to be keeping away

Media has been a little distracted. Don't worry. They will catch on.

Good to see that the Pastoria fire is not longer threatening communities.

Been a very significant day, for it to still be a week until Christmas and have so many fires is rare. Most of the states aircraft only came online over the past 2 weeks (some was brought forward to today) and today we saw much of that fleet committed.

We can only blame the weather for this one, with a majority of the fires caused by lightning there was not much that could be done when that wind came! Just imagine if such a series of events occurred in late jan/feb, when even more heat would have been ahead of the front.

Mia Mia, between Heath cote and Kyneton is going quickly. More than 50 appliances + air support, strike teams from r14 and r15, emergency warning current, more info on CFA.VIC.gov.au.

Temp low 20s, wind 26 - 46 kph w, rh 30%. Just shows you can't get complacent just because its mild and overcast. The fuel is dry enough north and west of the divide.

I don't know if it covers r2 but broadcastify has a few, you might want to check cfastream as well.

Now a watch and act for Heathcote Sth and Argyle in addition to previous E warning as wind change due 3pm.
