Yeah hard to believe it's so close to average. Can't remember the last run of hot days.

I much prefer the cooler weather but the heat can make things a bit more interesting storm-wise. Best is when we have temperatures all over the place with 'mini'-heatwaves.

Forecast now has 42 on Friday and 41 on Saturday.
I'm not convinced yet that it will get above 40 on either day. Will be close though. Still several days away so could go either way.

Looks like remnant moisture from yet to come TC Lam, may impact us around the 8th Jan. Access G has been very keen on it last few runs, GFS on and off! Would be nice to get a decent drop of rain!

Next week is one to watch as GFS keen on a decent moisture feed into the NE of SA pushing further SW as the week progresses...

Yes Kym we have all pinned our hopes too many times on extended GFS only to be laid to rest on a bed of rusty nails!

Not just GFS. EC has it looking fantastic for most of SA on Thurs, and as Kym pointed out, ACCESS has been onto it for days now. smile

I'd be making sure I have at least one of Wed, Thurs, Fri off this coming week I reckon... Prob Thurs the pick of it at this stage.
Currently drooling at the latest EC....

Bom will have to alter forecast tonight for Wednesday onwards. Looks likely event now.

yer its looking nice that's for sure, but I always have hesitation with Showalter in these convective situations. At this stage I'd be inclined to think any storms will diminish soon after night-fall.

EC starts the action off down our way Wednesday arvo, a return then on Thurs arvo, before a rain band sets in overnight Thurs into Friday.... (which has the possibility of a SIGNIFICANT moisture infeed from the cyclone activity in the NW)

BTW, it actually looks not bad in the Pt Augusta-Peterborough area tomorrow arvo. Otherwise all in the Flinders and NE pastoral.

Bom seem keen on some storms around tomorrow morning for here. Got my fix today but wouldn't say no to that.

Looks like a significant rain event is going to unfold towards the end of this week, particularly for lower NT pastorals/outback SA, with good rains all the way down to Adelaide (hopefully)! Will be flooding in the northern areas of the state, road closures for sure! Might even get some of the rivers going eg: Finke, Todd!

Nearly all Models including EC now pushing the rain further North on every run with not much at all for Adelaide, hope it changes...

Storm wise still looking ok for Wednesday/Thursday over the ranges...

Some really nice storms up in the Flinders and NE..... gradually entending outhwards as well. Satpic suggests chance some will develop further south along the ranges, perhaps as far as Crystal Brook/Jamestown.

Certainly is a very good period coming up, something we haven't seen in quite some time. The Feb rain event in 2014 was significant but was largely a rain event. This will be a good combination of thunderstorms, showers and rain. Need to have a better look in coming days but no shortage of tropical moisture feeding down across the continent. One only has to look at the satpic and be amazed.
