All the action down south, thought this was meant to be a northern event.

Is there a sea breeze keeping things at bay out there over the metro area? Should we expect that to die off this arvo, and let nocturnal cooling do its thing as the evening wears on?

It really is trying to move further south. Very dark towards the north. I "think" I heard some thunder. Might have been the one you heard betsuin.

Balaklava cell was NASTY. Ripping out huge cgs, an iron rainfoot and some nasty microbust winds, lots of dust.

In strath now, very annoyed I couldn't escape earlier commitments to get to my target half way between Strath and Wellington! Would have been perfect...never mind all mess out here now but will investigate stuff to NEA coming down. Anvil rain hindering though. Can see things will transition nocturnal overnight with stuff offshore to SW.

TS cool

Wind just turning anenometer now. Direction NW. Dark sky and lightning moving down to the SE. Good displays of Virga following it. No rain home, not even a bout of spits n spots. No sea breeze yet.
